Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forest is an Australian billionaire mining magnate. Images of his face have been appearing on cryptocurrency scam advertisements on Facebook/Meta and he is now launching criminal proceedings against the company.
Andrew 'Twiggy' Forrest has launched criminal proceedings against social media giant Facebook, alleging the company has breached Australia's money laundering laws by failing to prevent false cryptocurrency advertisements. The scam posts have been appearing since March 2019. Forrest wrote an open letter to CEO Mark Zuckerberg in November 2019 but nothing has been done to stop the practice.
Forrest is accusing Facebook of being ‘criminally reckless’. In a statement, he said – and I quote - he was launching the "world-first" action on behalf of "everyday Australians" to protect their savings from being "swindled away by scammers".
"I’m concerned about innocent Australians being scammed through clickbait advertising on social media," he said. – end of quote.
I guess they both have plenty of money to fight it out in court. It will be interesting to see what transpires.

I heard that too, but do not pay attention because makes me so mad. One way or another, I feel the world is corrupt so they have the edge in the end.

Hmm... I hope something can be done about Fb/Zuckerberg. I guess we'll see what, if anything, happens.

Good, there are many who takes on big companies and their working models. But taking on and sustaining for a long are 2 different things. I am not a FB fan, but giving you neutral perspective. Similar challengers came and vanished for Microsoft's MS Suite

Andrew Forrest should have the resources to continue his fight if he wants to. I hope he does.
