February 7 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today has been a strange day. I'm going to call it an early April Fools Day. Nothing was right about the weather when I checked it this morning. The map showed it was clear. Outside it was snowing. So, icy pavement with snow on top meant no pool today.
I'm thankful I went down for the exercise class. I went down early, took care of my recycling, then worked out on the bike for fifteen minutes before the other ladies showed up. There's usually a gentleman too, but he wasn't there today. So, I got a great workout this morning. I thought about going to the pool and fitness center and then doing the exercise class when I got back. I changed my mind about that after the exercise class. I had a good workout between the bike and the class.
I'm thankful for a good night's sleep. I went to bed early so I could be up early and go to the pool, which didn't happen. I learned the roads were treacherous this morning. I also woke up in the middle of the night to find my clock radio blinking. The power had gone out four minutes before. It was only 11, not 12:04 AM. So, I reset the clock and went back to sleep. When I woke up at 2 it was snowing. It snowed for a good part of the morning.
I'm thankful for the time I spent here today. I got a lot of notifications done and visited with many of you. It's good to know how you're doing in your part of the world.
I'm thankful I was only a couple of minutes late for my hair appointment. I left the apartment on time, but I needed to clean the ice off my windshield. That took a few minutes longer than I anticipated.
I'm thankful I got my hair done today. It looks great again. Paula always does a good job. I've been going to her since 1996, the semester before I graduated from college. She also told me the weather radar was down, which is why the map showed clear this morning when it was snowing.
Okay, not a lot today, but it was a good day. Now, it's time to shut down the computer, wish you all a good day/night, and go and relax for a little while before going to bed.
I won't be going to the pool again this week. I visited my neighbor who told me her husband tested positive for COVID. Exposed again even though she doesn't have it and they don't live together, they're always together. It just might be spring before I get back to the pool.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. Another sunset picture from a couple of days ago.

Oh, I did. It was bliss.
Thank you. I hope so. When I'm ready to go back to the pool, someone ends up with COVID and here I am once again stuck at home. If she had told me without opening her door that her husband has COVID, I could be in the pool. Oh well, this too shall pass.
Thank you. Sunsets are rare, at least beautiful ones. Not many clouds to give that glorious look.

It was bright and sunny here today even though it only made it into the mid-40s, the sun is really melting the snow off. (I've been complaining about the different weather apps available here getting the weather wrong, as well as being wrong about how much precipitation we're getting here. I found out why it's wrong a few days ago. Our city is too small to qualify for it's own weather center, so we get told the weather that's actually supposed to happen 35 miles from us in Springfield. Ain't that a bite in the tush?)
Hope you have a good night.

@just4him Springfield was supposed to reach 55F today but our high was 62F. That would have been excellent except our air quality sucks for some reason. (There's an alert for us to avoid staying outside if we can manage it.) I started coughing during the night and my eyes swelled almost closed today.
I'm not finding a reason for the reduced air quality.
No snow in our forecast.

@DaddyEvil Temp sounds good. Too bad about the air quality. I'm sorry you started coughing in the night and your eyes swelled shut.

That is a bite in the tush. I'm sorry you don't have local radar to give you a correct forecast.
I'm glad your snow is melting. Mine will tomorrow when we're once again in the mid to high 30s. However, there's more snow in the forecast so all is not grim and dismal.

Our weather reports are usually for Saginaw, which is 75 miles south of East Tawas. I hope your ribs are healing up nicely. I don't feel safe going out, when the roads are icy! Every driver on the road becomes a potential car accident. The Covid keeps running rampant and only God fully understands why. I'd love to see your new haircut:)

Sorry to hear about the weather and no pool the rest of the week again. I have never known if I have been exposed to be honest. I was tested when I was hospitalized and was negative.
Anyways, that's great you still got a good work out in and got to your hair appointment on time. It's nice to have a hair person that you have gone to for as long. I've gone to the same person for many years myself....although these days I just cut my own hair lol

I can't cut my own hair, well I could, but I would need to put a bag over my head if I did. I can't cut hair worth a dime. I cut my son's hair until my husband took the scissors away from me and took him to a barber to get it done right.
Thank you. I'm glad you've never been exposed that you know of.

@MommyOfEli2013 I agree with you about the in-between length.

Big ice and snow could be testing. Good to see that you got a good workout session.
The sunset picture is really nice.

You'll get there when you get there. That's the main thing. You still got a good workout in, so that's important.
I was plesently surprised the weather didn't suck as bad as believed. So, I'm thankful for that at the very least.

We had a similar weather forecast. I expected sun but got a dismal day with snow coming down like crazy. Thankfully it didn't stick but it looked like it would for awhile.
I'm sure you look and feel great after getting your hair cut. I need one desperately
Sorry to hear you'll have to wait to go back to the pool but at least you have your exercise class and exercise bike to keep you busy.
Beautiful sunset
