I Didn’t Get a Valentine’s Day Gift

I did get a beautiful card from my husband and 2 dozen red roses. My gift was on the way from New York City, but won’t be in until sometime today.
However, I shouldn’t complain, which I’m not. Before we left for Florida, hubs bought me diamond hoops with the diamonds on the inside and outside.
He also upgraded a ring for me to a wider band the second I saw it. Our jeweler took the other one right off my finger and just charged us the difference.
While there, hubs, who only loves watches, was looking at mens’ wedding bands. With my help, he chose a wide white gold band with diamonds. It arrived when we returned from Florida. He still has his yellow gold wedding band that I put on his finger at our wedding ceremony. His new band goes much better with his watches. I love it!
And guess what? Hubs is out the door to pick up his gift to me.
As I said many times before, love should be a daily thing, and not just celebrated on Valentine’s Day. We have been truly blessed in so many ways, but jewelry doesn’t die or make me fat.

I love jewelry, especially rings and bracelets. Earrings, I wear tiny ones, that's it. Your set is lovely!

I know you do, and I love jewelry, too, obviously
I wear it all. I always wear the diamond studs my grandfather made in Paris for my grandmother, but have 2 holes in each ear. The other is for the jewelry I want to wear on any given day.
I'm into white gold or platinum now, so hubs is building up my collection little by little.
Guess who gets everything when I kick the bucket???

@kobesbuddy Oh, I still love yellow gold. It looks great with certain outfits and colors.
You did what you had to do to help them out. That's why it's good to have a savings account for emergencies.

@kobesbuddy You are a wonderful mother and grandmother. I'd do the same. So glad things turned around for her.

The above is a lovely Jewelry piece. It is indeed a great feeling to be in a nice company of someone and be loved.
But yes gifts can be termed as an additive to happiness!

Yes like I am taking an off today, had coffee and bread.
Now sitting in a balcony with Pigeon net, with some plants around me and looking towards a nearby park.
At times, such things can be more calming and enjoyable.

Lovely pieces! Hubs keeps wanting to buy me a nice piece of jewelry; but I don't wear what I have, so why spend the $$??? Your hubs is very generous with you. Can hardly wait to see what he bought you!

@LindaOHio Yes, it’s a white gold chain with diamonds all around it. I saw something similar in a Netflix movie and hinted how much I loved it. It can be worn with a pendant. I also tried it on in the jewelry store, but he said nothing! I guess it sunk into his pea brain

yes you are so right. It seems you have the same deep love with your husband as I had with John my last hubby.
The ring and earrings are so very beautiful.

It's always the thought that counts. Thank you.
I always tell hubs I don't need or want anything, so one year I got zip on my birthday. I cried. Not even a card! I either fib to myself or taught him a life lesson
Several years ago we decided not to waste our money on gifts, so that we could travel more. Thanks to terrorism and the pandemic, we decided gifts were fun.

Thanks you very much. . I received a necklace today that I've been coveting, since I saw someone wearing something very similar in a Netflix movie Glad my husband listens to my musings!
Belated Valentine's Day greeting and enjoy your beauiful flower bouquet.

@DianneN Any gift we receive excites us, it is a way of showing or being shown that we are important in someone's life, besides, it is very nice, recently I was talking to a friend, who told me that she hated the fact that Valentine's Day has become a business for many people, as it is a good opportunity to sell and only focus this occasion on this point, to the point that she did not accept gifts, nor should we go to such an extreme, in my opinion.
