A Moment In The Past

During your childhood which cartoon characters and shows were your favorites? Shows that had you glued to your television set? When l was a child there was no TV in our home - but I had my fairytale books - and later on , comic books- especially Archie comics. Right now there is so much hurt and anger in the world. There is covid and lots of stress. Sometimes a short trip down memory lane could help ease one's stress for a few moments Of course, not everyone would have beautiful childhood memories, but for those who do - we can share a moment in the past Pixabay image

Yes, Sesame Street was one of the very popular children's shows. When it was time for the show, parents would gladly deposit their young kids in front of the TV and take a break.

We only had a black and white TV when I was a kid . . . but interestingly I liked watching a lot of old black and white shows anyway. Like the Little Rascals and Three Stooges.

@Kandae11 Years ago, there would be two movies shown with an interval/intermission between. There would always be a news segment and usually a cartoon and perhaps shorts/trailers of the next week's movies.

You're so right, sometimes it is nice to slip away to something fun and relaxing. I know I usually put on the show "Bob's Burgers" when I'm stressed. It makes me laugh

@Kandae11 Even better, it's an animated comedy, sort of like "The Simpsons". Bob and his family run a hamburger restaurant - there are funny situations... it's great :-)

I liked the Little dot comic and Richie Rich. My brother had a first edition of Superman when he was a kid and kept it in good condition. When he went to buy a house he took that comic to an auction and got $10,000 for it. A 15 cent comic book.

Oh yeah, the good ole days. Things ain't never been perfect but there was some good things in those days. TV was much brighter and happier and had real comedy. But of course things got fake over time. And violence every other minute. I look at the old shows for real comedy.
