When it rains, it pours. So says the old adage. And the Morton Salt logo. Not just the rain poured today. I have a leak in the roof. I’d prefer leeks in the roof, but it is what it is. I was hoping to wait until next year to replace the roof, but alas it’s not to be. Oh, and will you look at that photo? Those are brand spanking new glasses! Thankfully, my eyesight hadn’t changed a whole lot so I can wear my old glasses. But wow. I picked both pairs up, and honestly these new ones feel like feathers compared to my other ones. Get the birds out, they’re cheap-cheap-cheap-cheap! So tomorrow the sun will come out (as the song says). I’ll get the glasses repaired and call a roofer for an estimate. And life shall go on merrily. I sure picked the right time to do a “poor” songs countdown, though, didn’t I! Here’s the Marshall Tucker Band singing “Can’t You See.” No, not with my glasses in that condition I can’t!

And you've just spent half a fortune on your crawl space! It's good your old glasses are still helpful.

Now I get to spend the other half a fortune on the roof! Problem is, I don’t have a fortune.

I am sorry that one of the lenses was broken. I can relate to you. I cannot see clearly without them.

@Shavkat No, just some blur. I usually take them off to read up close because I’m not used to the bifocals.

I had lasix surgery 20 years ago or I’d need a guide dog and a cane without them!!!

Oopsie! I hope they aren't expensive to have repaired. And good luck with the new roof!

All I can say is bless your heart. I know some southerners say that sarcastically, but I always mean it with a kind heart.

There’s two ways to say “bless your heart.” I know you mean it the sympathetic way.

@FourWalls It's a shame we can't always be clear what we mean in a text.

I worked for Morton for 10 years...my husband, 25. I can sure agree with that old adage. Been there. So sorry!
