Day 253 Jeremiah 7:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2 “Stand in the gate of the LORD’S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, ‘Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the LORD!’” 3 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: “Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. 4 “Do not trust in these lying words, saying, ‘The temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD is these.’ 5 “For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, 6 “if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt, 7 “then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land I gave to your fathers forever and ever. 8 “Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit. 9 “Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know, 10 “and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, ‘We are delivered to do all these abominations’? 11 “Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of thieves in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it,” says the LORD. 12 “But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel. 13 “And now, because you have done all these works,” says the LORD, “and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you, but you did not answer, 14 “therefore I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to this place which I gave to you and your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. 15 “And I will cast you out of My sight, as I have cast out all your brethren—the whole posterity of Ephraim. 16 “Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you. 17 “Do you not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 “The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger. 19 “Do they provoke Me to anger?” says the LORD. “Do they not provoke themselves, to the shame of their own faces?” 20 Therefore. thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I will pour My anger and My fury on this place—on man and on beast, on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground. And it will burn and not be quenched.” People expect they can do whatever their hearts desire and nothing will happen to them. Then they look surprised when they get caught. God told Jeremiah to prophesy to the people, to tell them He saw everything they did, even believing they could do what they wanted and then come into His temple and pray. God told Jeremiah He would not hear their prayers. As Christians, you cannot live as you want six days a week and then go to church for one hour and expect everything to be right in your world. Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? God will not hear your prayers. He will not come to your aid. If you live for your own desires, God’s truth is not in you. You need to turn from sin. Cast Satan from your life. Don’t listen to his lies about fame and fortune. When you turn to God with a sincere repentant heart, turning your life over to Him, He will cleanse your life and bring you back into a right relationship with Him. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If you call yourself a Christian, you need to live like a Christian. You help no one when you live your life running with the devil during the week and stepping into God’s house for one hour. You don’t fool your friends. You won’t food God. James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Psalm 19:12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. 13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I will be blameless, and I will be innocent of great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 51:2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. Psalm 119:9 BETH. How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. (NKJV) Jeremiah 33:8 ‘I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me. (NKJV) God doesn’t want you to live in sin, but to come to Him so He can cleanse you and bring you into a right relationship with Him. Remember, Satan’s agenda and what Jesus said is yours. John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly. Turn, confess your sin and God will cleanse you. He will wipe your slate clean, hit the delete button on everything you did against Him so you can start over in a right relationship with Him. What are you waiting for? Let’s pray: Father, take the delights of this world from me. Show me how filthy I am and cleanse me from every thought, word, and deed that does not line up with your Word and purpose for my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Noting the verse : 1 John 1, 9." If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us --- Could that verse be part of the reason why a certain religious body feel that they can behave badly -- but going to confession will make it okay.

It could, but Romans 6:1 would negate that. You can't just go about your life doing whatever. Have a blessed day.
