Thanks to a Good Samaritan who found a female cat on the streets of Riverside California last month who took the cat to the Riverside County Animal Service where an employee at the center was able to scan the cat and find a microchip which led to the owner of the female cat Joe Drbec who used to live in Riverside but he lives in West Knoxville Tennessee.
When Joe received the good news from the animal shelter in Riverside yesterday, he was happy to learn that his cat named Ebi who got lost seven years ago after she left her home one day and never returned, he was happy as he can be.
The best part of this story is that Josh Welsh who is the director of the Riverside County Animal Service will be with Ebi on a cross country flight from Ontario California airport to the airport in Nashville where they would take an auto to Knoxville to reunite Ebi with the Drbec family.
Josh paid for the expenses of the long distance flight from California to Tennessee out of his pocket with help from a local charity to make the dreams of the Drbec family reunite with their cat come true.

@FayeHazel Thank you for the kind words. My older sister recommended to me to write good news stories instead of crime stories,

That is cool, a lot of people wouldn't have even taken the time to take the cat a center I think it's great that everyone took the exta steps to help the cat (Ebi) find her owner.

@Deepizzaguy I have known people that have dropped a cat off way away from their home, (this was before they had microchips ) and the cat would show back up about a week later. I always thought that that cat wanted to be there and was meant to be there, if they made it back home.

@sweetashoney That does happen in some cases. In the cases of my cats, they stay outside for hours throughout the day before coming home hiding underneath a blanket outside which is their hideout outside.

Seven years, the cat and the owner must have been very happy to be together again. What a nice gesture from the animal service director and local charity helping to make this happen

I agree with you that the animal service director did the owner of the cat a huge favor by taking a plane ride from California to Tennessee to personally deliver the missing cat to the owner.

I have found very few adult cats, most of the adults I've taken in have had long histories of being strays/ferals in the neighborhood. I can't say that Elizabeth, my oldest cat, is microchipped, but if she ever got out nobody would ever catch her. I will say that my youngest cats are chipped...
