Will the Russia-Ukraine war push fuel prices more?

Russia has finally attacked Ukraine today and started the war. I'm afraid this will push the prices of fuel more. Sadly, in our country we've suffered the 8th fuel price increase for the year the other day .
I am using turbo diesel and when I fueled up last Saturday, the price had then an cumulative price increase of 20% from the beginning of the year. With the rise in fuel prices, prices of other commodities will naturally follow.
We haven't had enough misery because of the pandemic and here comes this war.

Fuel is not what you should worry,USA and Europe submit to the tyranny of Putin,Mainland,Cathay will act soon. They'll attack Taiwan and colonize the whole Southeastern Asia.Your country will be a communist country like North Korea,be a huge Gulag. That's what you need to worry.

Fuel prices have already gone up 8 times since the beginning of the year and surely this war will push the prices up more.

Yes, you're right. It will be a chain reaction.

I hope the drop you're saying continues because, usually, when prices shoot up, they go down slowly as a snail and in "morsels".

In the United States the definite answer is yes, AND probably for the Philippines as well. The problem is that the Biden administration reversed all of the Trump energy policies that made the US a primary exporter of oil to the world and brought gas prices down dramatically. Now that Biden has returned us to energy dependent...
Guys like Putin are back in control of the oil supply and prices will go up significantly. Here in the U.S. I would not be surprised to see $6 a gallon at some point honestly.

The usual practice - one administration reverses policies or projects of a previous administration.

@sunrisefan The difference is that in the past presidents reversed BAD policy, not good policy. Biden reversed a lot of GOOD policy.

Yes, I guess since they are an oil-producing country they will impact the supply of oil and drive the prices from rising again because the demand will increase. Another commodity is wheat since they say that they also export a large amount of it to the world. So it might also be the supply of flour that would be affected worldwide too and will spike the process as well.

@sunrisefan I think since they have a very large land area, they have a large amount of commodity they produce and share with the world. I guess that is why Russia is a bit insecure about them and wanted to annex them as part of Russia's territory.

@rsa101 That could be a big reason why they want again to take control of Ukraine.

I saw a post yesterday or the other day listing 20 or more commodities where they are either in the 1st to 5th producer or in the 6th to 10th.

There will be those that produce weapons that are used in war that will benefit from going to war and they will be will pushing to go to war but they will not be the ones going to get hurt because they will be staying at home.

I have not tuned in to news after there was a report that Russia and Ukraine were on peace talks.
I hope that it won't escalate so prices won't go up.

I'm not sure if this is true or not but I have read yesterday that gasoline prices will go up anew by 1.80-3.00 and diesel by 3.50 to 5.50. I am confused with what's coming out because another friend also said that gasoline will go up by as uch as P5 and diesel by P10.

I have already seen it in the canned goods, they might raise another peso on it. Plus 15php increase in the jeepney fares. Good thing I dont ride jeepneys often. We still have a lot of resources here, we should mine our own oil.

The prices here have gone up today - P3.50 for gasoline and P5.50 for diesel. It's the 10th price increase since the start of January.

I fueled up last Saturday for Turbo Diesel and it was P57.30 but there was again another increase the other day so it must be P59 or more this time. Premium gasoline then was P64.

Others here are concerned about the fuel prices also but that remains to be seen. Although our prices are also higher than they were in d Dec/Jan, so we shall see. Hopefully it won't t take the process up exponentially.

It really is a huge worry that this war is now on. Who knows where it will end. Fuel prices have gone up here too.
