Hello every one, hope all of you are doing fine at your end. I am so excited to see my bank now as I have reached the threshold this month. It has been long time I have reached a payout. Now I did it, thank you so much my dear mylotters. Coming to the topic, I always love to experiment with cooking different dishes learning through YouTube channels. Today I will dry “Amla Murab” (Sweet Indian gooseberry). Yesterday I bought 500 gms amla, I have watched the cooking process, so thought to have a try as it is still season of Amla here. Soon Amla will disappear from the market and will be available only in next winter season. Will post the result after making it along with photos. Once again thank you so much for the support. Two questions for you. 1. How many of you would love to do experiment with cooking 2. How many of you reached the threshold for the month. Questions are entirely different but I don’t want to make it as separate discussions. Image from Google

That is the salted version and this is the sweetened version. I will tell you how to make it. First wash and wipe out the water from the amla. The steam it for 3 minutes (not more than that, once the water boil to start then close the lid and cook for 3 minutes. Then take it out and allow it to cool, again wipe out the water from it with a cloth or tissue. Then take jaggery, if the amla is 500 gms then take 500 gms jaggery. Melt the jaggery by adding half glass of water (If the jaggery has impurities then make it clean (you may aware the process). Luckily I got good one so save the time for cleaning it. One the jaggery melt it completely then add the amla in it. Make sure the flame is on medium or lower. Keep stirring once the water become sticky you can add half lemon's juice. Then stir it occasionally and keep the flame low. you may take 45 minutes or more... You can switch off the flame as the water become honey consistency. On cooling keep it in a glass jar, you can have the same on the next day as it is instant. Please add little bit of salt to balance the sweetness. I will give you the link of the video too, it is in Malayalam but I think it has English sub titles. Even if it is not there you will understand after reading my description. Very easy to prepare.

I'm glad you reached payout for February on myLot! (I reached enough for payout on the 5th of February.) Yes, I love to experiment with cooking. Pretty and I both make foods we learn about on myLot as well as foods we hear about on other sites. Sometimes I post discussions about those foods with pictures of them.

Congrats for reaching the payout well in the beginning of the month, really a nice work without even starting topics. Regarding cooking, it turned nicely but my children did not like it. Anyway hubby liked it. It is healthy as it cooked with melted jaggery and no preservatives added.

@Sreekala Thank you. Unless I'm ill or can't be here for some other reason, I normally reach payout by then. If your hubby liked it, then you can make it for you and him. Let the kids starve for one meal.

I too experiment sometimes in the kitchen. I love alla murabba. One question.... How do we get to taste what you have made? To your second question.. I don't know when I last reached payout. And am certainly not getting it this month.

I don't like cooking, it's not my forte, but my DIL always experiments and when I want some dishes I just tell her and she searches on YT for videos to follow the procedure. Is amla sweetened there? Thanks for sharing Yes, last month I got my payout too.

Amla is sour on eating as raw but after some time we felt the sweetness. Due to its sour taste many do not like it. But amla murba is sweet as we cook it with jaggery/sugar.
