Drains My Energy

Some professional students usually drain my energy every night if I want to point out something to them. It seems that they are so witty and smart in expressing themselves in Business English. In fact, they are just beating around the bush. If some of them do not want to be corrected, I simply shut down. I do not want to drain myself over and over again. Besides the point, they are just wasting my precious time and they are wasting their money. It sounds like a 'win-win situation' for both parties, right? I am just being silly. I thought this WFH arrangement would lighten the workload we have pre=pandemic. There were many times back then when we have to travel back and forth to work that basically our energies are really drained down. When lockdowns were implemented, I thought we would have more time to ourselves but the work at home came in the scene and presented a different kind of burnout for me. There are times that I feel wasted after many hours of online meetings and I felt the same feeling as it was before when we were doing face-to-face work.

That is what I am thinking lately. They are planning to open again Baguio City for the celebration of the Flower Festival. Later on, they will impose the lockdown. In addition, they wanted to open all levels and go to schools here. Good luck!

@Shavkat I am looking for a much more open but safe place to move around and do our things again because anything that impedes one from doing what we are supposed to do will further deteriorate our economy. I do not think the local governments cannot afford to have another hard lockdown anymore because it is crippling them economically.

@rsa101 I do agree with that. Here is what our mayor said today.

I'm sorry your students drain your energy by their silliness.

I am fine dealing with their silliness, but sometimes I cannot sustain it.

I'm lucky, the only thing I deal with daily are pets and they don't drain me.

I am glad that I have two dogs here and they make me feel relaxed after having my classes online at night.

I can imagine that is very annoying. I guess they think they're the only one making smart remarks.
