to like Tiktok but well, you can’t force yourself to like something (or someone) right? I downloaded the app, checked for myself why many people like it so much, but failed to see what hooked them to it. It’s just pointless to watch people dancing (and most people, especially young women, can’t really dance, but they’re wearing skimpy clothes while they wiggle their way in Tiktok so look, they’ve been raking thousands of viewers). I know there's cool stuff in there but it’s just me, not them. Anyway, after a few minutes, the app was deleted. Sorry not sorry.
Have you downloaded an app and then decide to delete it?

I've never used TikTok but the app is in my mother's phone and she loves it because of the funny videos.
Yes I've ever downloaded an app but only deleted because of lack of space in my phone

@sol_cee I mean my phone did not have a memory card and the internal memory was full so I needed to delete some apps to keep the phone running

@mildredtabitha oh that’s quite a hassle. What if you can’t delete anything because you need them all?

Well, I think it's not for everyone to really appreciate it since. Mostly the younger generations are the ones that are liking it. I have the app in my phone and I watch some of their post there from time to time but for me to contribute something in it is something I do not imagine myself doing.

I never downloaded TikTok as I never liked it. It's banned in India being a Chinese app. There were lots of users in India. I read that an owner of the app said most of the fools are Indian as they have the highest number of users of the same in India. And seriously I feel pity for the people who waste time on such apps.

Tiktok is a fine amusement distraction for me for a few minutes per day also.
I agree most of it is nonsense though.
I delete most apps, as they are useless. I cannot think of any specific though.

I don't have the app but I see a lot of TikTok posted on IG and I actually enjoy some of them. I particularly like the dance steps being copied by people around the world (it seems so fun to see them destressing and all) --- and the cooking videos. I don't bother with the voice dubs and stuff.
Yes, I would download apps and delete them right away if I don't find them useful.

Ah, there's the issue. You didn't give it time to learn what you like. I didn't download it for a long time, but then decided to get it because I was still working for the toy store at the time and a lot of our young customers were wandering in going, "Mom, can we get this, it's popular on TikTok!"
So I got TikTok initially as a means to do market research, trying to figure out what toys were going to be popular with the kids. I started viewing and liking videos, but that's when the AI kicks in. If you slide quickly past a video you aren't interested in, TikTok AI goes, "Oh, they didn't like that one, let's show them a video of a funny cat."
Now I like animal videos. So me sitting there and actually watching, liking, or sharing that video told the AI that I like animal videos. So it started sending me more animal videos, but while it's doing that it's also sending new types of videos in between to see what you like or swipe past.
After less than a year on TikTok the AI has figured out that I like animal content, D&D stuff, fiction novel content, Marvel things, funny content from creators in my age bracket, celebrity accounts, and essentially accounts made by women for other women. It knows what I like now, which means if I get on TikTok I'm mostly only seeing the content I'm interested in, which keeps me on it for literal hours.
Basically, if you don't take the time to teach TikTok what you're interested in, it's not going to get a chance to show you what you'll like. But it actually is very smart and will start figuring you out faster than you'd think it would, so it's not a very long process for the experience to become tailored to your interests.
