we moved to our new house. I remember being too busy with arranging stuff and all for days that I couldn’t be in myLot for a long time. Lolll It’s not an exclusive housing facility, nothing fancy but I like it here. The neighbors are friendly, some greens here and there, we can have the privacy we didn’t have in our previous house.
You see, our old house was in my husband’s family’s property. Don’t get me wrong. We are okay. My in-laws are the kindest in-laws one can have. It’s the other relatives like the aunts and cousins and nosy neighbors. I feel like it’s better when you live far from people who give their two cents in when you’re not really asking? Omg, I’m getting chatty. Lolll
How about you? How long have you been living in your house now?
Photo is not my house.

We were in our last house for over 22 years but moved into this one just over three years ago. I remember you claiming you were "too busy" to visit any of us last year and I thought you just wanted to be away from myLot (or certain members on myLot) at the time.
I'm glad you like your new house.

@sol_cee I've been at home with my eyes swollen shut. I can't get my monthly allergy shot right now but taking the allergy pills makes me sick, so I've been letting my laptop read to me while I couldn't see.

@sol_cee Yeah..... got cheated.... that's why I was so less into mylot last year, it's like my life has been upside down. I don't know if you ever been to that situation, but feels like my heart really torn apart. Can really felt that heart torn inside.
But thank GOD! He never leaves me. I, today slowly move on and got stronger than last year. Let that man serves his own karma later. I don't want to get my hands on his life anymore.

This house, this year it will be 10 years (wow, I just realized that ).
Are you feeling all settled in now? It took us a while - our first house - and it needed a lot of fixing so I didn't get to do anything with it for over a month. We lived in apartments before that.
I imagine it's hard to live with too many extended family members under one roof. I couldn't do it. Privacy is gold .

@sol_cee Hee hee - maybe we will. It'll actually be more like in May/June. More reason to eat cake !
Oh wow, so you literally had a neighborhood of family! Wow, I don't know anyone that has massive property like that here. Here I know there are families that just stuff themselves into one house - I would go nuts .

@much2say it's quite a story how his grandfather got the land. His ojisan used to be the caretaker of hectares and hectares of property owned by, guess what, a Japanese man! I dunno how the the Japanese guy got to own properties here but, this guy would come to Philippines every now and then (so he didn't live here?), would survey the crops and stuff, especially this area with a particular mango tree, and it went like this for a long time until everything came to light when diggers (people who dig?) came and yeah, you got it right, they were digging for treasures. It's all about the treasure. Yamashita treasures maybe? Anyway, the Japanese guy gave my husband's grandfather lots of land and that's where we lived for some time.

Wowwww a decade already? You need to celebrate!
Living under the same roof can be a nightmare eventually. We didn’t live in the same house though. We call it a compound here, like my house and his mom’s house, his sister’s house, aunts’ house, grandmother’s house all in the same land. Do you call it land? Or property?

@sol_cee Yes the basic shell house is the same. I did not buy the house. I constructed it with an SSS housing loan of P47K for the construction of the house and purchase of the lot. A few years after we retired in 2007, we had it renovated and the only extension we had was the kitchen to make room for a bigger living room and dining area. The garage was then attached to the house. The original house was 75 square meters, probably the smallest in the village. After the renovation, it's now probably about a hundred square meters. I took these two photos this morning.

You should have built your house like the one in the photo. Congratulations on your new house. May every blessing come into its doors and misery fly out the window. Inviting your Mylot friends for housewarming?

Your house is gorgeous!
Right now I've been in this house for almost three years. Actually...now that I think of it I've been three years at the last three places I've lived in, lol. Moving is a regular thing for me, which may be because I grew up with a military father so moving around is just normal in my life.
I do get the whole privacy thing though. I've been living with roommates for the better part of my adult life and really would like a place all my own at some point. It's always too expensive though, especially if you have pets. I'm not willing to give up my dogs to have a lonely place. I feel like I'd get depressed. So, I stick with my roommates where I at least have company if I need it and can still have my furbabies.

@sol_cee I have two dogs, yes. I had three but one passed away a little over a year ago. Los Angeles is a very dog friendly city insofar as you can take them on the train and into stores and everything, but not a lot of people are willing to rent to you if you have dogs. If they do rent, they're expensive.

Your house is beautiful. When you are standing on the balcony of the second floor looking out, what kind of view do you have?
I have lived in my current house for 5 years now. I really like it, and I have the most wonderful neighbors.

We've been living here since time immemorial... hihi
Before, there were four of us, my mother and my siblings... My father was working out of the country then.
Then my brother had a family.. They stayed here for about 15 years, and it was last year when they moved out...
I like how peaceful it is now here...

@sol_cee You want me to bless your house? I've done that many times :) You should have invited Ms. Erly because she was alone in her house with 5 vacant rooms which were probably occupied by ghosts :)

It's good to be away from prying neighbors. Hehehe. We live in an old house owned by my parents-in-law who have since moved to the US. The maintenance takes up time and money, but I love that we have a huge backyard overlooking a creek and with a view of huge trees.

we live in this old house we rent that's more like a shack,a couple yrs I think. We moved from another shack from the same slum lords you might say, down the road when they sold it. I thought it was going to be better but no, it's just worse.
