The Inner World Lies Hidden

The world is in turmoil as we get carried away with the outside world of the troubled mind. Change is the constant in the physical world but the inner knowing should help to steady our ship of life and living. Then we are firmly rooted in the oneness of humanity. “One of the most important causes of division, war, and violence in the world is nationalist sentiment. NATIONALISM is simply another form of EXTREMISM.” Mouloud Benzadi, Algerian writer. Let us be patriotic but not lose sight of the oneness of humanity and the fountain of continued blessings. Increasingly, it is one world when members of a family are citizens of different countries Our leaders tend to play with fire to browbeat others for the heck of it - okay, to prove one is superior to the other. But that will lead to our doom. We don’t have to start from scratch to learn the basics as they are ingrained in our inner knowing. Things are out of control for sure and the writing is clearly on the wall. However, when a few think and act that they are right, and they are our leaders, that could well write our epitaph - what a harsh reality! When a species commits harakiri, well it is their choice! Nationalism and the desire of power from the leaders are the main causes or wars. We can do very little, things seem out of control, we must be prepared.

Agreed, 99% are made pawns in the game of brinkmanship of supposed leaders. What an irony!

@LadyDuck When ego and selfishness rule, we cannot expect anything better. Humanity as one has to unite to survive.

@JudyEv Which should not be the case. Often, backing off can be a wise thing to do if one can swallow one's pride. Alas the egos persist!

@Shiva49 Leaders, once they've decided on a course of action, don't like to back down.

Yes, it can get much worse when pride and ego are involved and none wants to blink.

I might sound cynical but it looks like we are soon going to reach a point of no return. Third world war. Nuclear Armageddon. The avoidance and mutual destruction theories looked like making these things far far away. Yet what after Putin did in Ukraine, all these seem closer. Nobody knows what will happen even in the last few months. And common men and women are just left to fend themselves. Suffering, becoming refugees, living life like insects! Well.. to be Frank; I am running out of thoughts and words....

Yes, blind rage can lead to armageddon with all the weapons of mass destruction everywhere. We have been playing with the proverbial fire for too long.

It seems we don't learn the basics or we forget them faster. I think it is more the supposed leaders lead us astray against our collective will for peace.

Thank you. Might is Right will mean we are worse than wild animals in terms of reasoning capacity and fairness. In fact, we can learn a lot from other species when it comes to coexistence.

You are right that the word is in turmoil. It is just one of the signs of the end of the world. Jesus could be coming back a lot sooner than you think!

Yes, but we should "fight" for the survival of humanity than yield to hatred and division. After all, the vast majority wants peace. Why should they be denied?

@Shiva49 I know what you mean. Most people want peace. But because of the warmongering few we might not get it.

The thinking that they are right stance can reach right down to the grassroots people too, as witnessed by this covid crisis. The majority of these grassroots people couldn't care less about oneness, nor the good of society; all that they wanted was to stack their own pantries full of toilet paper. The majority of the world's peoples now carry the mentality, of what's in it for me. They are all selfishly directed, and all want their own rights, to be met, at the expense of everyone else. They have left oneness behind, and carry their own medals on their own chests only, parading themselves to all who pass by them. They can never perhaps realise that real medals only exist within, and are displayed outwardly to others only when we live from inner peace, love, and truth.

@Shiva49 Yes, one man should never be allowed to gain such power and riches. Mankind, at the grassroots, under such despots, do tend to grow a little taller themselves, though, and to stand up more in the world, and eventually, the world throws out such greedy, power-thirsty despots too.

Yes, ultimately it is fair dinkum when we reap what we sow. Some do get carried away with one-upmanship and hitting others below the belt but our leaders take the cake when what they do leads to misery for mankind in totality as it happens now. Looks like one man's action can obliterate all the progress and hopes of mankind.

Thank you. When we put other agendas to nullify the oneness of humanity, then we are on the way to division and disarray.

Thanks, it is a cry of anguish at the state of the world. Most innocents suffer for no fault of theirs. They do not want wars, others' territory, impose their will on others. They want to be left alone.
