I Got the Writing Job! / myLot

The editors loved my writing sample so I'm moving forward into the training phase of the process. At this phase my pay breakdown will be as follows: $10.00 for mini-features (400-999 words) + PPV ($0.65 per 1,000 page views) $20.00 for features (1,000 words or more) + PPV ($0.60 per 1,000 page views) $30.00 for super features (2,000 words or more) + PPV ($0.60 per 1,000 page views) If I do a good job and prove that I can keep up with posting on a regular basis then I can get more pay. This will be strictly writing about movies and tv shows, and general film media news. So really fun stuff! I'm very excited!

Congratulations! That sounds very similar to what my daughter does. She's a video game tester. She gets new games a month or two before the games go on sale, she plays the crap out of them and then writes a review. She gets paid a basic fee and PPV. It's not bad pay for playing video games all the time.

Yeah, it's not really a lot per word in comparison to like getting a job at a major publisher, but it's way more than I'm making on Medium lol. I will take $20 over the 2 cents I make there lol. It'll be a good supplemental gig next to my dog training thing.

@DaddyEvil Money is money and it's even better when you make it while having fun. Now I just need to get that parttime bookstore job and I'll be a regular LA inhabitant with their three jobs in order to just survive lol. But I will like all three jobs so I'll take it over the one high paying job that makes me miserable every day.

Congratulations, I know you hoped to get this job, I am glad. I agree that it's writing about fun stuff. I suppose you have to watch movies and TV shows.

This is really great news. Making money doing what you enjoy is rare these days. I am proud of you for having the guts to quit something that you weren't happy doing and following your heart. Way to go Kade!

Thank youuuu!!!! I feel like this'll definitely bring some excitement back to my life. I used to get press access into things for being an entertainment blogger. I can probably start doing that again!
