Feeling Sick in the Pit of the Stomach

Life takes sharp turns that we hardly anticipate. They can be at an overall level to affect us all or at the individual levels.
We can take comfort we are all in this together and none is spared. There is an overhang of turmoil, uncertainty, and we have to wait for them to drift away after casting their long shadow over us.
I have a stoic take - this too shall pass but inaction impinges on my conscience. Is that all that I can do? Can I do better? As a common person, there are limitations and a sense of helplessness.
There are always issues across the world. Some are highlighted while others do not catch the headlines. Most are taken for granted as nothing much can be done about them. Even nations turn a blind eye.
We have a take that when we are not guilty, we should do well in the afterlife, whatever that means.
Well, the reality for me is numbing to my senses. I quote “War is a place where the young kill one another without knowing or hating each other, because of the decision of old people who know and hate each other, without killing each other. ~ Erich Hartmann, a famous German fighter pilot during World War ll.
I am one who will always wonder why all this killing at the instigation of those who are in the background and creating mayhem. What is at stake for them?

You present a very interesting concern - we see all the terrible things in this world and feel, 'could I do something? or feel helpless, 'what could I possibly do that would help?'
In the Bible book of Ezekiel is says the following:
Jehovah said to him: “.... put a mark on the foreheads of the men who are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done in the city'
God sees and makes note of those who are concerned and wish they could do something.
There is a solution - the only one that can resolve all the conflicts and troubles we see.
Today, each of us has the opportunity, by our words and actions that we detest the wickedness of this world. We should respond favorably to the declaration of the government, or kingdom that Jesus told his disciples to pray for, and be active in promoting the interests of this government.
I found the following article very comforting - I hope it is of comfort to you:

@Shiva49 I understand - but who do we band together with? The systems of this world have been unsuccessful in bringing about peace - they keep talking about it, but they cannot do it. They cannot fix the problems without dealing with the root causes.
The government of God, spoken of in the Bible, is not some distant possibility. It is a dynamic government. It has been active for over a century, educating those that want to be its citizens. It has been teaching them how to root out the reasons for disunity.
Those who support God's government, actively participate in this education. Actively, they search out any who want a better world and are willing to make the changes necessary to be citizens. Teaching material translated in over 1000 languages, so no one is denied an opportunity to hear.
If someone wants to be a citizen of this government, they must 'take in knowledge of the the only true God, and Jesus Christ' and to become Christlike on a personal level.
The citizens of this government do not take up arms. They don't take sides in the conflicts of this world. They invite people to look to the only power who can really eradicate wickedness, not just temporarily, until the next despot comes along.
In fact, they are told 'stand still, and see the salvation of Jehovah'.

@sulynsi The main issue is there is only one God, but we have created many! And people are carried away with rituals than following the path of love and unity in diversity that is the hallmark of creation.
My hope is the future generations who already see the fallout of divisions, ego, and blind fury. They can communicate at will to nip the hatred in the bud. That is the spiritual advancement that is possible with our preexisting awareness.

Yes, the war machine rumbles on, and the common people cannot do a thing.

Swami Vivekananda said - when people put other issues above the oneness of humanity, we will never realize peace and coexistence.
What is the aim of wars? A piece of land somewhere remote or a political ideology that the leaders manipulate to their advantage? And those who die may not own anything in this world but are made to fight.
What crimes did the babies commit to suffer for the hatred of adults?

Why do we have wars, and fighting against each other here, and there seems to be no end in sight to this endless fighting too?
War happens when somebody with power lets it go to his head, and he drops love to below his use of power, simply wanting stuff to increase his power again, at the expense of his prior connection to love.
They have placed power above love.
Wars have no love in them, except at the individual level, when a fighter sees past the power setting, and sees love again instead.
I will use this quote again, as it is such a powerful one to illustrate my point here with too:
Jimi Hendrix:..... "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace."

@Shiva49 Even the Military can fear the leader, and follow him, or her like sheep, but in some places, the military will do a bunk, and just take over the rule themselves, with a military dictatorship.
Yes, there needs to be more controls built into the system so that one person, or one such faction alone, cannot rule at the expense of the other factions, in the country.
There have been controls placed on the Unions here, so that they can no longer hold the company to ransom, with their strikes now, here too.

@innertalks The action of the leaders should reflect the will of the people but it so happens the people themselves are the victims as their peaceful lives are disrupted.
When a few organized unions strike, as it happened more often in India earlier, the vast majority were left helpless. They bore the brunt of the disruptions to life in general.

That quote says it all for peaceful coexistence.
The leaders' authority should be constrained so that they cannot declare wars. At least the majority in their country should endorse such an action.
Increasingly, it is a United Nations at the workplace and remote working means people can work from anywhere. Wars lead to disruptions in the logistics of communication, getting paid, and eventually leads to less love with divisions raising their ugly head again.
One evil mind can lead us astray, to think of it, and undo all the harmony built over years.

Yes your post speaks up about all thoughts going on in common people's minds currently. War isn't the solution at all. I think we shouldn't feel guilty. It's the leaders of the government who should feel that way and stop this war thing. It has claimed so many innocent lives. It's sad
