EMT certification?

Anyone know if it is easy to become a certified EMT and what the pay is?

I'm a Medic in NC and before I was layed off I was making $9.00 an hour and when I was a EMT Basic I made $7.15. If I cross the line with this i apologize, make sure you realize what the job is and means to you before you jump in head first. Any more questions you can msg me and I'll try to answer them.

Read my post on "Should EMT's Get Paid More Than Minimum Wage?" Sad, but true. The average EMT pay is just above minimum. In California, it ranges from $7.50-$8.25 an hour to start. In my opinion, it is not too bad as long as your plan is to pursue your paramedic license. That starts out around $12.50. With raises and promotions, that is much more feasable. Generally, EMT can be achieved by taking a class at a local junior college, passing their test with an 80% or higher, and take the state registry. The state registry may depend on the state you live in. Good luck!
