Thanks to the actions of security guard Corey Palmer and the cooperation of the residents at the Ashford Bayside Apartments in Kenneth City Florida on March 3. a fire that started in the third floor of the apartment that did cause damage to the building, no one was hurt in the incident.
Thanks to the actions of Officer Palmer who ran from door to door knocking on the doors of each resident on Wednesday evening one hour before midnight to alert all of the residents of the apartment to leave as soon as they could.
Officer Palmer had assistance from the other residents to warn their neighbors that the apartment was on fire.
50 residents who lost their homes inside of the apartment have been assisted by the American Red Cross to find a temporary place to stay at this time.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the authorities. Officer Palmer will simply say he was just doing his duty as a security officer.
