Winter Fat

I am trying to get rid of my winter fat. It seems as though eve4ry winter I tend to put on a few pounds and then have to work to get them back off. The older I get the harder it is to lose that winter fat, hence the spring rolls. Oh well, what are you going to do? Winter seemsto be that time of year that adds the pounds to the body. I think I am eating healthy, for the most part. Hope everyone is happy, healtthy, and safe

I am fine and I gained no pounds during winter. I try not to gain, because aging is difficult to get rid of extra pounds.

Isn't that the truth. The olde4r I get the easier it isw to put on a couple of pounds and harder to take them off.

@LadyDuck It's a good thing wed do. I'd be the size of a ban if I ate as much as I did when I was younger.

It's the holidays that did it for me. I'm still trying to lose another 10 pounds of what I put on over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

@HazySue Yes, they do. I gave in this year for the first time since starting my diet. I can't do that. Everything in moderation isn't even a good slogan when you need to lose weight.

My knees started hurting and swelling near the end of last year. When I spoke to my doctor he said to stop walking on the treadmill. Of course I gained weight. I can't get it off without walking on the treadmill so I have returned to it but slower and for less time. Pain in hip flexors has returned but I can't not exercise. I won't lose the weight otherwise. Age definitely has something to do with it.

@HazySue I took a couple of long walks on the beach in Cayo Coco, Cuba, and felt no pain. My calories burned every day surpassed my goal. But, I'm not used to eating 3 meals a day, so I had that working against me.

When I was young, I had to try to gain weight. Not now, that's for sure! I guess it's partly an age thing. I want to lose 7 or 8 pounds and how hard should that be, but it is.

Its easier adding the pounds than getting them off. Don't rush , prepare a food plan and stick with it. You can aim to be in perfect shape in time for the summer.

I tried some of the exercises for the people who are unable to get out and walk. I wish I could say I lost weight. I can say however, they helped make me a litle more limber.

I think during winter we're inside more and closer to the refrigerator.

Oh, I love that picture! So cute! I put my weight in my points app (not Weight Watchers but based on their points system), and it came up telling me I’ve lost 10% of my body weight since I started.

It always really annoys me that weight goes on so easily but won't come off without a great deal of striving.

Itt is annoying for sure. If only it was as easy to take it off as it is to put it on.

The older you get the harder it is to lose weight and to sleep.

Lucky you. You must not gain weight or your pants would get tight.

@HazySue Well, I wear yoga pants 99 percent of the time unless I have to wear real pants or I'm wearing shorts. So I only notice weight gain if it's visible or if I am wearing jeans.

I guess people tend to get more lazy during winter as the weather gets colder.

That does happen but speaking for the older crowd, some of us just can't e4xercise for one reason mor another. That makes it so much harder to lose.
