Hacked

Yesterday I was getting ready to give you the health report when alarms went off on my laptop and I needed to call Microsoft. This was NOT a scam. I was hacked. The technician walked me through the computer and I, not him, controlled my computer and sought the information about being hacked. He told me to stay off the computer the rest of the day. He even told me how I got hacked. It was through a popup. I had seen them several times a day and mostly ignored them. However, I did see a popup that looked like it came from here, with a title of a possible post that sounded interesting. It wasn't from here. It only had the myLot address on the popup to grab my attention until I finally succumbed to one of those popups.
I won't be using my laptop anymore, no matter how secure the technician said it was. He told me all my devices would be affected, including my desktop. I've never seen a popup on my desktop, so after waiting several hours yesterday, I got on the computer to work on my book before going to bed. I needed my computer fix.
I missed being with you yesterday. He did assure me that everything would be fixed in a few hours. I haven't seen any alarm screens this morning or last night on here. So, I'm confident it's safe to be on the computer again. Particularly the Internet.
Have you ever been hacked? I'm sorry if you were. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. Signs of spring. The robins are back along with cardinals and morning doves. I tried to get a picture of the cardinal, but he alluded me. The picture shows a robin and a morning dove.

I had my camera ready, waiting for him to show himself, and gave up and he flew out of the tree. Grrrrrrr! Oh well, I'm sure if he's around, I'll see him and his friends again.
Frustration is the word all right. I really wanted to be here yesterday. Oh well, I'm here today. Though right now, I'm headed down to work on the bike before Canasta.

I'm sorry you got hacked. I'm glad the technician helped you through that mess.
Yes, years ago, when I had my first desktop, it got hacked. I didn't know it had a problem. One morning when I got home from work there were two guys sitting on my front porch waiting for me to get home. When I asked if I could help them they said they were from the FBI and then showed me their credentials. They said they needed to see my desktop. Someone had hacked into it and was using it to relay stuff for them out of the country. The FBI removed my hard drive after retrieving my info from it and installed a new hard drive and uploaded my info into the new hard drive. Then showed me how to use antivirus software he installed.

@just4him I was happy about it, too. I had no clue there was anything wrong until my desktop slowed way down and I contacted support to ask for help. As they were helping me, they came across some of the messages the person was relaying through my desktop and told me to shut it down and someone would be at my house to help me with it in a few days.
The FBI was there the next morning.

@DaddyEvil He asked me if my laptop was slow. I told him, no, but my desktop is because it's old. My laptop is fast by comparison.
I'm glad you asked for help with your desktop. It must have been serious for the FBI to show up.

Wow I have never heard of anything like that. That must have been really weird. That reminds me I have to run malware bytes. think I am going to do that now.
