Cagayan de oro city is now Zero Covid

For straight 5 days now the city where I reside is zero virus. Hoping the virus departs the city and the entire Philippines. I have also some doubts that few days from now the virus shows up again for starting April the country welcomes foreign investors and visitors to enjoy Boracay and other beautiful beaches in Philippines. Other countries are still in surge of virus.
Despite this, there is no Advisory to stop wearing a mask. It seems the virus is just resting or like honeymooners once they come back they produce new mutants. .
Thanks for reading. Take care all.

@RebeccasFarm, it seems the virus will show up again for there are many OFW's going home everyday. I'm still so afraid.

It is good news for you are there but we should still be vigilant and still follow the protocols to make sure that we won't give the virus to victimize more. We should be aware that there are those that are asymptomatic that might be around spreading it.

@cacay1 Yes until after our bodies develop a much more permanent immunity can we say that we can beat the virus for good. The vaccines are not a permanent solution but just a temporary solution to a complex virus that we have right now. They can arrest the worst of the symptoms but they cannot stop the virus from infecting anyone. I am seeing the answer to those asymptomatic people that could shed answers since they carry the virus yet they are not affected at all and they can still infect others too. There must be something in their bodies that others don't have.

@rsa101 ,that is what many are afraid of. This month is our booster month on 29th. People at home are happy to get the booster, at least than never. There is another variant the Deltacron in China again. It said they are on lockdown this time. They should be banned to enter our country. By July we'll be having our face to face classes in the university, but still so hesitant so with the parents of the students. Let us just wait and see after the election if there is no soaring of the virus for people anywhere come out together to vote.

That's wonderful, no covid cases! Masks are very helpful. The new sub variant omicron BA.2 is rearing its terrible head. Hawaii, March 25, ends Safe Travel to Hawaii, meaning, no vaccination card necessary for entry & no proof if negative covid test necessary too for entry. It's the end of mask mandate indoors in but need mask for bus & transit, airport & planes & wherever required by business owners. This covid keeps changing, I don't trust it at all. I'll keep wearing my mask & shield.

@oahuwriter, I also have doubts the virus isn't easy to convince to leave humans. But how we all like this virus leaves earth by its own

That is a great news! It seems today the tropical countries have less Covid-19 cases. I am not sure why, perhaps it is because of plenty of the sunshine or the hot temperature? I don't like the rules here as a few cases can lead to a whole city lockdown. This is very crazy and it doesn't make a sense at all. Its bad effects are more dangerous than the Covid-19 itself.

@cacay1 You are right. The life is quite different before the pandemic. I think having less Covid cases is good, but I think it is better to take care of people's well-beings. Some patients have emergent cases could die because they didn't have the Covid-19 test and the hospital rejected them. The lockdown leads to bad economy and I think some people must have harder lives. I feel for these people.

@youless, how nice if the earth is covid -free so we will have peace and freedom. We lost our freedom this time and it's too long already. The virus keeps on mutating. But China has less covid patients compared to other countries like USA, UK, India, Germany, Russia, Vietnam, Aussie and more. You are still lucky.

@HazySue, I'm still doubtful if the virus won't show up considering the many returning Filipinos from the different parts of the world especially OFW'S from Ukraine who were repatriated due to war plus many foreigners to come to invest. How happy I would be if the virus never comes back to earth.

@zhangxueying, no more Omicron in Philippines I hope it won't attack again. Why are you tested with nucleic acid?

@cacay1 Maybe our detection methods are different. We use nucleic acid testing to determine if we have Omicron
