Not My Pet.

Not only humans suffer from dangerous diseases - dogs do too.
It surprised me to learn some time ago that dogs can suffer from. .., cancers, arthritis, bronchitis and other illnesses popular among us humans.
Should we worry then about what we feed our pets? Should we feed them vitamins and minerals in order to lessen their chances of - dying young?
What do you think? Did you ever have a pet that had to be - put down because of an illness or did it simply die of old age?
Whichever way it happened , it would be heartbreaking for the owner.

My dog Gizmo was just diagnosed with bronchitis this week. I didn't know dogs could get human diseases either until the vet said he had bronchitis. Thankfully he's doing better and I'm hoping he continues to improve.

Yes , l had been thinking about dogs an diseases for some time now, especially since my nephew's dog Lion seemed to be having a problem. I was doing some research on the internet , then l saw your mention of your dog having bronchitis and decided to write about dogs and illnesses.

@Marilynda1225 It is sad when Brendel has a breathing episode, I can't do anything but watch. I almost lost her recently due to this condition.

@Kandae11 - You are right. My neighbors brought their cat many times to the vet, they really loved their kitty, but there was nothing that could be done to save him. The cat came to visit me the day before they put him down, I had the feeling he knew it was the last time.

I had a cat who developed a heart problem. It was heart breaking. Actually, another one had some sort of issue like that as well but he was much older. He still lived to a ripe, old age.

I never did have a sick pet, but I have lost pets for other reasons.
The only thing one of my dogs ever had was kennel cough and we had to take him to the vet, luckily he was fine after that.
My friend had a cat that got cat lukemia and it had to be put down, that was very sad.

I've had pets in the past but never gave them vitamin supplements. It does seem like a good idea. Like humans having a healthy diet will keep them healthier and could extend their lives. Pets and all animals have a certain life expectancy of course, but why not provide them products which will boost their immune system.

These days, with be pet insurance, if I had a pet, I'd like to keep them healthy. Best to check with your vet about it. I'd one dog, put down, heartworms, way back in the 60s. I can't afford pets now and live in no pet apt.

Exactly. Pets need care & care costs.
