Turns out we had a Covid test at home. Positive.

I just said in my previous post that I haven't been feeling well. Turns out we had a Covid test at home and I did it, and it came up positive. At least I know why I'm feeling so awful and a high temperature. No idea what to do from here. I will be calling the information number that comes with the Covid test and see what to do. I'm a little bit panicked. Trying not to be. I know this can be just like a cold. I've just never had a high temperature before (well not in my adult life anyway). Like I said, I will be seeking information about what to do but if anyone has any tips or advice, I'd really appreciate it. My dad and brother are fine but I'm guessing once I make this known to doctors, then they will have to have Covid tests too. I feel bad. I just apologised to my dad because I feel awful. My being sick with Covid means dad can't go see Nanny which means they can't go see Poppy. My dad assured me that I shouldn't apologise. But I do feel like I've screwed things up. I'm just curious how I got it. I barely go out. Either way, I need to look after me. I'm worried about something, the way I feel now, can it get worse? I am panicking about not being able to breathe. I am breathing fine but worried if it gets to that. Can it get worse than it is now? Or is Covid really unpredictable? I literally don't know.

I would call your doctor and see if the “covid treatment” medicine (molnupiravir, manufactured by Pfizer the people who did one of the vaccines) is available to you in Australia. I’d also recommend using cold treatments like zinc (which has always worked for me), chicken soup, rest, and lots of liquids. I’m praying for you. I hope you get well quickly.

Some people never have a breathing problem. Some simply lose taste and smell. While others get a fever and stomach ache. Talk to a doctor and follow what he says - and try not to panic.

@Kandae11 It is interesting (not really in a good way) how the symptoms vary. Some deal with it as a normal cold while others get it so much worse. I'm very sorry for my late reply. I really thought I already took care of this Discussion.

@marguicha Interesting. It seems to vary a bit. I've known it to go both ways. Some who have had the shot/s can get it either mild or really bad and those who haven't had the shot/s can have it mild or really bad. I'm very sorry for my late reply. Just keep on watching the symptoms if it is getting worse or better. I hope you got vaccinated already since it can greatly help get you to fight the virus off. In the meantime, you should isolate yourself from other household members as much as you could. I think you do not need to be apologetic about getting the virus since anyone can really bring it to you. It could be anyone that is asymptomatic but are a carrier of the virus. In the meantime, you can get as many Paracetamols in you to fight off the fever and body pains that you may encounter. I know there are more meds that you may need depending on the symptoms that are showing up on you. For now, I advise you to keep vigilant as well as to relax and avoid panicking since it could worsen your condition if you keep on worrying about it.

Omicron is supposed to be less dangerous. If you already got your vaccine, then the situation shall be better and you will get well soon. Just have a good rest and plenty of water. You are young and soon you will be alright

@marlina Thank you very kindly. I am all better now. It was not a nice time for us here in the house but thankfully it's all over and hopefully that won't happen again but who knows at this point. I kinda keep my shot/s updates to myself. I hope that's ok! I just stay out of that sort of subject as I know some people don't like the answers. I know you will be alright but I just keep it to myself I decided. I really hope you are doing well! It's really unpredictable. You can predict a bit from wether you're vaccinated or not and quite a lot from age, but it's really a very random virus. But you're not that old? And it's possibly omicron, so statistics say you might feel terrible for some days and easily tired for some time after that, but nothing to panic about. My father just had it, he is 84, he just called it a heavy cold. But avoiding grand-parents for a while is still a good idea, my father is a really fit 84-year old. Keeping fingers crossed that you get the light version of it!

@Torunn That's one thing I wish I could have known back then, knowing which variant it actually was. Not that it would have changed anything but I was curious and still am curious what it was exactly. Thank you for your lovely comment. I am glad your father took it like a trooper! Hope you're doing well! I'm very sorry for my late reply. I really thought I already took care of this Discussion.

Have you been well since after your wonderful recuperation? My family have had the covid flu in July. They all home-tested. I didn't test because my body was already telling me I wasn't 100%. I was in complete bed-rest for three days. 4th-8th day and onward I was slowly up and about cleaning the house and garden. My garden missed me

@everwonderwhy That is true. I know this world has gone through so many awful viruses and diseases and we still do our best to soldier on! I am happy that you all do what you can to be healthy. Something I would like to learn more about. I like to learn and know about a more natural approach to things. I would have a fun time taking care of those weeds. It's amazing how quick weeds grow sometimes.

@VivaLaDani13 It was an ancient, old flu that has plagued humanity. But the world and humanity still move on and go about our productivity. Yes, we are quite diligent with our natural therapeutics in fortifying our natural immunity to be healthy and resilient. The garden was so robust with weeds and knee-high grass while I was resting. But winter has kept the soil soft so it wasn't so hard to pull out weeds.
