I recently posted a Discussion about wearing masks which prompted a very lively discourse.
Today's topic is vaccines. My husband and I have always gotten whatever vaccinations that have been suggested by our physician and/or those that I have read about and asked my physician's opinion.
We are vaccinated for the yearly flu, shingles, pneumonia, COVID-19, etc. With the exception of COVID-19, we have not had any side effects from the shots. My husband had the chills for an evening after receiving the first COVID-19 shot. After that we just had very sore arms.
What about you? How do you feel about vaccinations? What vaccinations have you received?

I am typically pro-vaccine. I believe they are effective and they mostly work. But the vaccines we take are ones that have been put through the rigorous and lengthy process that the Covid vaccines were not. You'd think I'd applaud the quickness that this vaccine was put out since it was Trump's Operation Warp Speed that allowed that to happen.
BUT, I am anti-COVID vax simply BECAUSE it was not tested and put through the same rigorous process, and therefore is experimental. Based on medical reports it is also one of the deadliest and most problematic vaccines we have ever had, so there's that.
I think most people should get vaccinated, and have always offered my opinion that it is better to be vaxxed than not, and for a lot of good reasons. At the same time this one is one where I have said people should step back a bit and evaluate what they are really putting into their bodies.
That all said, I think whether or not someone chooses to vax in this case is something that should be respected. I do not discourage anyone from vaxxing who wants to, nor do I fault anyone for deciding not to.
So far I have not gotten the Covid vaccination and I have no intention to do so.

I didn't know that they required a vax due to jury duty. Good to know. Thanks.

We are always get vaccinated when the doctor says I lol be good for you specifically. I’m not old enough for the shingles one and I never got the HPV shot but my 11 year old did.
My list of vaccinations is long since I’ve had a lot form being a small child to an adult. Yearly I get flu and then whatever booster as need.

I have received nothing. I am not going anywhere and I am more in than out so, for now, I did not get the Covid and since I do not even remember when I last had the flu I do not get that shot, Otherwise it is up to every individual to decide for themselves.

I may have gotten vaccinations when I was a kid back in Belarus but I am not sure what they were. I was younger than 9 at the time. Not sure if my parents ever taken me to get a flu shot here when I was young but I, myself, never got it. And no covid vaccine for me.

I've had shingles three times in ten years but am not old enough to get the vaccination for shingles. I don't get the flu shot but Pretty does. We both got all three Covid shots.
I don't get the flu shot anymore because I did get it three years in a row and each one of those years I had the flu. I haven't gotten a flu shot since then and haven't had the flu.
Pretty and I both got sick for two days with each of the Covid shots but then we were fine. She doesn't get sick after getting the flu shot.

Shingles 3 times? That's terrible. I had a bad case once; and that was enough for me. Thanks so much for stopping by and giving your opinions.

I'm like you, I get every vaccination recommended to me by my doctor. I believe in vaccines, and I believe they work effectively in reducing the number of deaths from disease, infections, bacteria, germs, etc. Nothing is foolproof, but overall vaccines have saved millions of lives across this planet.

I've gotten whatever vaccinations my physicians recommend. As for covid vaccine, I am fully vaccinated and is scheduled for my booster shot this coming week. I've never had any side effects so far with the covid vaccine.

the covid one just gave me a sore arm ... nothing more. i just did it to get rid of my nagging wife, she is scared of sh^(&t like this. she drinks bottled water, ain't eating crazy stuff. I don't care. I just drink tap water, eat meat of all sorts, even raw, aaaand drink a lot. BUT! the flu shot gave me some dizziness...which is weird. Oh yeah and I didn't respect the rules, mask, distance and sh*&&t like that....Never had flu...but wife is wife, I like quietness around me ...

I've had everything except for the Shingles which I hope to get soon. My insurance doesn't cover the two shots and they're $360.
