Waking up and a big blast yesterday

Yesterday I was laying here feeling all calm and playing a game when. BOOM! a big blast like a bomb hitting our house nearly gave me a heart attack. It was actually thunder with lightening very near by. It shook us all and I thought surly Russia or one of another countries was bombing us and it was the end. Has anything shaken you like that lately ? It's why I try to avoid the news, too much is keeping me awake already lately and making my nerves on edge.
My daughter just brought me the most wonderful sandwich for brunch. Bacon, tomato, cheese, and turkey lunch meat on toast with mayo. She knows all the things I love.

I love thunderstorms, I am sorry it scared you. The only thing that has startled me lately is a shoe being thrown (and thankfully miss me) by another student in our special needs room.

@Carmelanirel2 some just can not live among other people as much as we might wish they could I think.

@bunnybon7 I don't get hurt like I did last year, but she has gotten me with her shoe before among other things that don't really hurt.

It's common any time in this state Rains most months it seem to me. Never has winter snow, just rain and cold, summer is hot mostly and rainy too.

@LadyDuck well most parts have rain lots of the time and big thunderstorms. Many times we have had hurricanes. I have been through 3 of those here. The worst ones. Lived here off and on for many years.

I don't pay attention to the news. If something I NEED to know about is happening, Pretty will tell me. I enjoy my time on myLot and watching various science and gaming videos online.

I try to not pay attention to the news, but sometimes I hear my daughter discussing it in the next room with Clay or someone on the phone. It's so hard to ignore completely these days.

@bunnybon7 Pretty doesn't watch the news. She sees stuff online and knows I don't want to know about it.

@bunnybon7 one of my twins has the saying "best day ever" when something goes right, it reminds me, that every day is indeed a blessing.

That would have scared me too. Many times booming thunder has made my heart stop (not literally).
That breakfast certainly sounds good

when it's very quiet a big blast that shakes the house can sure shake a person up.

@bunnybon7 it certainly does. Many times it scared me when I wasn't expecting it. With all that's going on in the world I'm grateful it's just thunder

That was really mind blowing if ever Russia would send bombs to your place. I think they are quite busy invading Ukraine for now that they are not interested in making trouble with your country at this time. Anyway that lightning is surely an awakening that anything could happen in your place. I am keeping in touch with the current events good or bad news I need to know so I can know what to do in case something bad happens in my place or whatever it may be.

@bunnybon7 That is true. I hope the sanctions would be able to cripple his ability to feel like being power-hungry. It is funny that he accuses Ukraine of being Neo Nazis to justify the invasion.

maybe. But most people feel here that Putin is power hungry like Hitler was and if he over comes Ukraine, he will keep going to take over as many countries as he can get.

especially when it's real quiet in your house and it sounds like it's right on top of you.

Sounds like what happens when we have thunderstorms here, I live a couple of blocks from the ocean and on the other side the Halifax River and when lightning strikes the wat in the ocean it is like a sonic blast and then don't the other side into the river and boom boom and I almost fall from my hair,

It doesn't help that I have been through 3 hurricanes here the times I have lived here.

me too but daughter has it on most of the time she is home and I can hear it in the next room and her comments while she is folding clothes and such. Plus it's hard to avoid on here and other social media.

Your sandwich sounds yummy! Yes, we had a thunder scare too. It seems like the first thunder of the season always catches us by surprise.
