Dont you wish there was less choice on tv

people always said we would follow America down the route of too many channels and not enough quality (in the 1960s I think) The programs were so much better when we had three channels ;-) and you had to actually move if you wanted to watch something else. Also why are advert breaks now long than the programs and the programs are so short by the time they did the intro ,told you what happened last and then tell you wahts going to happen before it happens

I'm always quite pleased that we don't watch much TV. Any time we want to watch for a while, there are so many programmes to choose from and very few of them really seem to be any good.

I like a good series that has a beginning and end , but most dont because they are hoping for a second and third series which often never comes lol American series are the worst they just go on for ever and then you find they stopped production before a conclusion

@58lordstreet We never really 'get' American humour. I guess we're too much immersed in our British background maybe but I can rarely find anything funny in American comedies.

I agree with everything you said. The program quality was definitely better when we had less channels. We have over 100 channels now; and often there is nothing to watch.

I never saw the sense in having 20, 30, 50 channels. Even if you looked at a quarter of those you would be spending most of your life watching TV.
