Yesterday, my daughter and Clay went over to Clay's moms to visit because his brother was visiting with family so their kids could have an Easter egg hunt. The night before, they had went over to visit with his mom to set things up. I get scared if I am totally alone because I might fall and end up laying on the floor for hours until someone comes home and picks me up. So, we had an argument that night as to why they couldn't go help and visit during the day. Anyway, they went anyway leaving me here at night alone for 4 hours. Obviously,I survived. But then we had a bit of an argument again yesterday because they went that morning again and I was alone from 11 am till 10 pm. Again I survived. I told my daughter this morning they need to go out together and take a little break to have fun a few daylight hours at least once a month. Just leave me with food and water and essentials like yesterday and I should be fine. I realize this is actually Easter and Sunday and had mentioned I was getting paid 17 th. Stupid me, no way am I getting my check today. I did get paid my whole 7 bucks from mylot though, so was able to get me some "gems" to buy some power ups on my games. Which made that much more fun. I have no idea why I don't make more on here, in spite of all my help from my angel the kind @GillyGirl, I kind of just give up sometimes because that happens. In spite of spending most of my waking hours here. Well at least it helped get me out of my depression. How is your holiday going?

I think there is a bracelet or button one can wear to alert someone if you are in trouble . At least it would make you feel safer to be on your own.

I know. It's called first alert and I think it costs money we don't have

Have you or your daughter contacted the Area Agency on Aging in Florida? They may be able to help you get a medic alert button you can use to contact someone if you fall. Here are the numbers and locations of the three non-profit organizations in Florida. I hope one of them is close to you. Screenshot is mine.

thank you. I do have the one on my contact list on my phone. We used it for nurses to come a while back. I will look into it. Actually I have my phone.

@bunnybon7 It's entirely possible you can get the service and the button free of charge through one of those agencies. And you're welcome... I hope things work out for you.

Medicare should pay completely for you to have a daytime/part time caregiver. They come to your home, help you when you need it, help with showers or baths, meals, and so forth. That would give you some confidence and your family more freedom. And yes, you more than likely do qualify for a help button.

I don't make a lot here either. I'm sorry though, that it scares you to be alone.

It's because it's happened a couple times now and if they hadn't been here to pick me up I would panic even more. The first time, I broke my ankle and foot.

I am enjoying my holiday working on sharing good news stories on this site and doing surveys on a good sunshine day.

Install a panic button which links up to emergency numbers, if you will.

money is the problem with that. I do keep my phone by me but if I pass out or bump my head, that would be no help plus I have to worry that if I get up to use the bathroom, not to forget my phone

@bunnybon7 I think this is a problem that everybody worries for themselves living alone. You just have to be careful, okay?

My mum lives alone and is in her 80's We helped her move into a building that has no stairs to climb and she wears her alert button at all times I used to be amused at those old commercials, 'I've fallen and I can't get up' but I understand now, it is no laughing matter - a person can get that weak. Even someone much younger than mum.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I don't like to be left alone either. Our Easter was very quiet and uneventful. Have a good day.

I'm sorry for the arguments. Maybe you should keep a cellphone on you and call whenever you need anything.. even if you fall it should still be on you.. Best of luck with everything.

@bunnybon7 I always imagine like what if the light/electricity goes off while I'm in the bathroom, and that scares me so I never forget to take my phone.
