Robin Egg Blue Found In My Garden

Walking around in my yard this time of year, I never know what I might find. I always keep my phone in my pocket just in case. This is a beautiful blue Robin egg. Sadly it was found in my garden. Many things could have happened. The egg is infertile, the female kicked it out of the nest. Another bird could have destroyed the nest. It could have fallen from the nest. Will never know for sure. I am still looking for the nest. I know there are many in my yard. I have seen robins, cardinals, doves, blackbirds, and now bluebirds pairing off to build nests. When I find one I will snap some photos and share with you. I have to be very careful not to disturb them. I do this every year and always find a few here and there. An exciting time of the year. Photo is mine. By the way, this egg is about the size of a peanut M&M candy. Very tiny, I had to zoom in to get the color.

@CarolDM That is sad, but the small size makes me think of the nature's way theory and survival of the fittest. Sad though.

I think they are so beautiful. I hate seeing robin eggs on the ground. The mama is sitting on that nest on my garage, so I’m hoping those eggs won’t end up on the ground!

I've never seen an actual Robbins egg before even though the Robin is out states bird. I didn't realize it would be that small.

They really do lay some pretty eggs. Actually, most bird eggs tend to be. Too bad it will never turn into a chick.
