This is not a secret to some of you that I had worked once on a dating site online before. For the sake of curiosity, I did work with them for a few months last year and was referred by my friend. At first, I was enjoying the job and eventually, I felt bad because we are just cheating on the people who are yearning for true love.
How? We just send messages to them and never meet them in person. In fact, it is one of the rules of the company. It is a text-based convo with them and never allowed to give other information to them aside from the given profiles embedded in the dating site's platform. All the women's information is bogus or fake. All in all, I just stopped working with them after having my last payment.
Today, I received an offer message to work with them again. They are building a new project and targeting people in America. I did not reply and just brush the idea off despite being considered easy money to earn.
If you are interested more about the nature of this "dirty job," then you can ask me freely.

So you're male but pretending you're a female and talking to other males? Which country were you targeting before?

Interesting that there is this kind of site that is made of half-truths. I am interested in how they operate and earn from it but I am never interested to become part of their operations. I wonder how the people survive from all of this scamming other people and taking advantage of the emotions of their clients.

I am glad to chose to leave this industry. You are to be commended.
It is not uncommon that otherwise principled people get tempted to take on work that bothers their sense of decency, fairness and propriety.
There are plenty of differing opinions and it is easy to find one to smooth out any prickles of conscience.
Where can we turn to for the best advice when considering if it is appropriate to take this job or that? What decision can we make that maintains our sense of self worth?
The Bible refers to ' .doing what is good work....' Ephesians 4:28 and in many places indicates that good, honest work rightly makes us feel fulfilled and contented.
The most obvious principle that comes to mind is what Jesus said, 'do to others what you would have them do to you'
If I were a customer of this company, how would I like to be treated?
And I think that is what bothered you - you knew it was 'cheating' and dishonest - far better to take a humble job, maybe even harder than we'd like, that is honest and decent, than have to feel worthless within ourselves because we've violated what we know to be decent and right.
Again, good for you - I hope whatever work you do now brings you that sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

Very interesting post! I have always been suspicious of "dating sites" and have never used one. How are the women's profiles "fake"? As you may have seen in my latest post, today I am celebrating the good people in my life. But there are always those who will do anything for a dollar.

Yes, it's not surprising.Liars are around us all the time.
So in today's world, people are very indifferent, only the relationship of interests. We should be wary of the people around us all the time.
