While not wild they do have them in botanic gardens across the US Surprisingly it is really popular with people even buying tickets in order to watch it bloom.

I have never heard of this most unusual plant.

That doesn't sound very appealing if it smells like rotten meat. Guess I always expect flowers to smell sweet

That sounds horrible! I really wouldn't want a flower that smelt like that in my garden. It looks big too. I don't know how you got near it if it smelt that bad!

We had/have (not sure if it is still around) in our botanic gardens. It was at least 2 meters tall. It smelt awful.
