News: Shanghai is in Lock Down for...

...more than a month now and even the other provinces in China. They claimed that the local government is aiming for zero cases. Most of my students who live in this place are whining about being locked down. In my book, it is better to be controlled than to spread the Omicron virus again and again. It was done in my city a couple of times and seems effective. At present, we are still flagged down as alert level 1. Are your world still in this situation? How do you keep your mental health healthy? Image Credit: cordis.europa.eu

To be honest, the world is not going to be healthy. But, at least we can minimise the virus spread by following the safety measures.

I believe that it will happen gradually. We just need to keep on following the health protocols imposed on us.

@Shavkat Yup. Unfortunately, some 'heroes' out there thought they are super healthy and not following those rules. That's why I say the world is not be going to be healthy, because of those kind of people.

I've seen from trustworthy independent network from the Internet about heavy lockdowns, isolation still happening in China. Fear is the deadliest of all. In the past 2 years, Scientific data, 99.98 percent survival and recovery from Covid has proven factual. So, there's actually nothing to fear.

I was surprised that China is back like it was when this pandemic started. I thought they got rid of it last year but it seemed that some of the new variants were able to slip and have gotten worse again. I think we are in a better situation right now despite the political sorties going on the cases remain under control.

I agree that we are far better than them now. Actually, it is a hygiene thing that makes the difference. I do not want to elaborate on it. I am claiming it for working there before.

@Shavkat Been to HK too the place looks cosmopolitan but at night trash is a bit of a problem since they are everywhere. But the good thing is early in the morning they are busy collecting it so it would not be seen in the morning.

I am not sure that zero-covid is going to work. And I feel badly for those locked down. As long as flights are going in an d out of China, zero-Covid will be unattainable I think

@Shavkat They are determined--it is unfortunate and I fear that many will suffer as a result.

I agree. It needs to go with the flow and do the health standard practice now. However, China is so determined with this idea though.

@divalounger I assumed that most of them are suffering from mental health problems.

This is a good way to get to zero cases. Allowing at least one person from every household to go out for essential items like food and keeping social distance and preventing gathering of crowds and wearing mask in public is a good way to get those numbers down.

I agree. We did these things before in my city up to this day. We do not have any cases lately here.

I think I came across this news too. I think I want I still want a strict lockdown. Have more patient and make sure it's zero cases before we live happily the way we use to be

sometimes I think maybe they will die because they starving before the virus hits them, but absolutely I really hope there isn't a single case like that, it would be terrible.
