I woke up at 6 am after only going to sleep at 3 am. No wonder I feel like crap all day, huh? A quote from my favorite star (to me) of all time went through my head as it often does." Jim do you ever wake up in the middle of the night and feel so alone? Like you are the only one in the world?"
It's from an old movie called Dead Ringer. The story is about twin sisters. One, Maggie, was a very selfish rich widow. The other was Edith, struggled alone trying to keep a bar running she rented but was being evicted from because of her good nature. Anyway to make a long story short Edith kind of flips and kills her twin and takes over her life. The plot thickens from there. It's probably my favorite movie of hers and I loved every one she played in.
This is a star I have several of her movies on DVD. I have seen most of her movies probably 5 or so times. Never get tired of her.
Most people today will not bother watching black and white movies but I recommend just watch one of her best movies once and I bet you will agree she was a true star. Her very best was horror and strong women movies.
Anyone remember her?,

I don't watch horror/murder movies. I'm sure, if you believe she was a good actress, that she was a good actress.
I had an appointment at a medical supply store this morning at 10:30 am so went to sleep around 4 am. My BP is still very low this morning so I didn't take my BP meds. I'm exhausted and dizzy.
I hope you're feeling better this afternoon.

Oh my. I am very worried for you. I pray your doctor will find a way to fix that and get you better.
As for myself, not a lot can be done because of my age I think.
Bette did have a lot of movies too that were not crime or horror.
Jezebel was romance, Now Voyager was about a woman coming out of her shell, All about Eve,was about an ageing actress.
But you are right. Now that I think of it I guess they were mostly " chick flicks".

@DaddyEvil I have often wondered that about me/myself. Or worse still I might be allergic to my daughter
I do know she uses this soap and deodorant that the smell causes my breathing to get harder until it dries and becomes less prominent on her.

@bunnybon7 After reading your discussion starter, I checked her movies and started laughing... Thanks, but no thanks.
I'm sure I'll be fine. My doctor keeps trying to figure out what's going on with my BP. (Pretty thought my home machine was wrong so we went to Walmart and used their machine and it gave the same reading. *shrug*)
The allergist started me on two new meds a few days ago and I was worried that one of them might be causing me problems but Pretty looked them up and said they shouldn't be the problem. (The allergist said I'm allergic to myself, whatever that means. )

I am not a Bette Davis fan. She is or was a good actress. I like Black and White movies but her I really do not like. I remember her very well but still did not like her.

@Hannihar not everyone is alike. I don't like Mel Gibson yet most everyone else loves watching him.

yes and you could see it in her eyes when she got a devious idea. Her eyes made her a great actress.

I haven't seen a Bette Davis movie in forever and I'm probably one of those people that you mentioned who doesn't really watch black and white movies anymore.

@Marilynda1225 That's one good thing technology has brought us. In the past we just had to wait for them to come back on or have a VCR

I hope you get the chance to watch it. I always thought it was her best. Followed by The Letter being next best.

@bunnybon7 She has never been my favorite actress. I do not remember who was in the remake. I should check if I bought the DVD, but I think I have seen the movie on TV years ago.

I know of Bette Davis but I don't think I've ever watched her. Honestly most of my movie watching and TV show binging has stopped lately and I don't know when I'm going to pick it up again.
I get being tired and i hope that you feel better and get some sleep.
