Older People are Making Me Feel Inspired

I read the replies of 70+ year old people in Quora and I was inspired by what they shared. They say that they are having the best years of their lives and they wouldnt want to turn back time to exchange it with how life is at the present. Now that is something to look forward to but the aches and pains of course I do not want but even at present I do have back pain on top life stress and anxiety.
I would say I am loving my 40s and I wouldnt want to go back to my 20s or 30s except to change my mistakes if given the chance. Otherwise, I prefer my current age. I have to say I am enjoying it. It only gets better, I suppose.

I do not believe what those people say, not a bit. I am 71, I do not like the world as it is now, but I would love to turn back time and the again in my 40s. Consider that I have no aches and pains, but no one can honestly say that being 70 is better than being 40, it is a BIG lie.

From what I read they have more time to do their hobbies, perhaps in their younger years they are tied to their jobs and alarm clock in the morning as well as responsibilities of having children & grandchildren and the stress that goes along with it.

@yoalldudes No matter how hard I worked I would immediately go back to my 40s should I could. Of course we cannot.

Well one thing I have to say, I'm glad I'm no longer a teenager and have to go to school. Some people say your school days are the best days of your life. Who are they kidding? My school days were definitely the worst days of my life, especially senior school. Junior school wasn't so bad, but it was at senior school when the bullying started. I'm glad that is all behind me. I think the best days of my life are yet to come.

@58lordstreet I used to wait in the toilets after school for 15 minutes or so to avoid the bullies who were threatening to beat me up.

same here - I think British school children seem to be the nastiest .I see in Spain children going to school in groups laughing, I had to leave very rapidly to avoid getting into fights

@sharonelton I had to take a short cut across the field and hope not to be caught by the teachers its was one way to get ahead of the bullies or take a mile and a half detour

@RebeccasFarm Yes aging is not fun. Your body gets easily tired, muscle mass reduces, health issues do crop up.

A lot of my friends around me as we creep closer to 30 are panicking because of aging. Honestly, I'm just surprised I made it this far, I'm almost 27 and it's kind of like...wow, I made it this far with everything that has happened, life has to get better at some point and the only way to actually see life get better is to actually age and grow and experience life.

Age is just a number. We can be youthful even at 50 mentally if we have a positive attitude, do exercise regularly and eat good food.

@yoalldudes yes it's better to chill and relax. There is more to life than worrying about unpleasant things.

Of course its harder to return to being young once again since our age also has perks and the independence that we enjoy right now is different from our younger years. Although I like the easy life I had when I was young when you really do not worry about many things like it is now.

Childhood and youth are the golden age which one must utilize to the maximum extent as once gone you won't get it back.

I guess it really depends on the quality of life they have now versus the quality of life they had before.

@allen0187 yes .. you are right. Quality of life is more important.
There is no point living for 100 years and not doing anything good for our society and the environment.

@yoalldudes yes past is past. No point in dwelling into it and make our present bad. It's better to forget and learn from our mistakes to never repeat them.

I too am in my early 40s and am pretty happy with it. Neither too old nor too young.
Have enough experience to teach others and also have the enthusiasm and experience to face life.
Yes I agree the old people can be inspiring to listen as they share their life experiences with other. They have a more positive outlook towards life compared to the younger generation.

@jayanth_77 Spot on. Those are the things we need to include in our schedule. When I give my time to do them I feel happier and I bring this joy and calm even in the workplace and family.

@yoalldudes yes time does fly as our lives have become so fast that we forget to admire little things in life like giving time for ourselves, spending leasure time or go for a walk , cultivate our childhood hobbies like painting, singing , dancing and so on.
