Well, even though I intended to resume my weekly "Weird Word Wednesday" posts, they have been in abeyance once again. The last one I shared was on March 30. I've allowed other things to take priority.
Abeyance is a noun, meaning a pause or a suspension. It's a new word to me.
In the 16th century, this word of French origin was used as a legal term, and often still is. Money or property can be held 'in abeyance" until all legal matters have been finalized.
Have any of you heard of or used this unusual word?

I would use this word to say I obeyed..
I abeyance you.

Hahaa! I love your play on words and sense of humor. I always think of 'obey' when I see abeyance too.
