I'll Never Turn Down a Free Meal

Happy Friday Everyone! it's a wet, rainy and soggy looking day outside. Any day I don't have to cook is a win win in my book. My oldest daughter has some leftover barbecued pork chops and asked if I wanted them. Of course!!! She'll drop them off sometime today as she has errands to run. So maybe I will still have to add some sides but that won't be hard. Baked potatoes and a veggie. It's only the later part of the morning and I'm already talking about dinner Guess while I'm on the subject I'll ask...what are you having?

Before I shop, I plan menus and shop for the ingredients I do not already have. But that does not mean I know which meals I plan to prepare and when, so, one of the last questions anyone should ask me before coffee is, “what are we having for dinner?” But, there is chicken in the fridge, so I know that will be part of tonight’s dinner. But I am not cooking, so beyond the chicken, I do not know what else is planned.

I sneaked out of my house and went for my semi-monthly hamburger (a small “slider” size) at Logan’s Roadhouse. I also got a foot long turkey sub for tonight and tomorrow to pair with some chicken soup. Now I can just sit back, watch my new TV, and let the traffic clog up the streets.

@Marilynda1225 — they only stop for lightning. And tornadoes. Don’t want to see a winning horse doing the Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz routine.

You were smart to get out early and get your burger and turkey sub. I'm sure the traffic can get pretty crazy there on Derby weekend. Guess the rain doesn't stop the horses from running

I like the way that you think. We don't eat much pork here, my hubby likes sausages on Sundays, but that is the extend of it. We are having fish and chips for supper tonight-its Friday Fish Night.

We had salad with chicken in it and several veggies. Because my daughter has been warned of very high cholesterol. Poor girl. She gave me the dressing and croutons in hers.

I love a salad loaded with all sorts of good things. Sorry you daughter had to give up her dressing and croutons due to high cholesterol. Hope she manages to bring it down.

I am glad your daughter gave you those delicious leftovers. I make a goulash for dinner, the temperature is far to be warm here.

@Marilynda1225 - It rained yesterday, it rained during the night. Now it's 7:30 a.m. and it seems that the sun "could" show up.

Our weather is still a constant roller coaster. One day I have the heat on and the next the air conditioning. Goulash is one of my favorite meals

Sounds good! My dinner was sweet potato. I had a huge brunch if white rice to tuna in scrambled eggs, side veggies. Now a little ice cream will be good.

I had enough leftovers from lunch to go for dinner and it saved me from cooking . There was enough chicken for my husband and daughters. I had my vegetable sauted with lentil soup

Heck, you gotta take free meals when they are offered! I am going to have that soup I discussed earlier. Hopefully it will thicken up some..I might have to add a bit of cornstarch or flour.

I think some microwaved 'Fried Chicken Wings' (a.k.a. "Chicken Nuggets for grownups" ) and some Straight-Cut French Fries, leftover from Pizza Hut (I had the last of my leftover pizza for breakfast).
