Fun But Busy Weekend

My weekend started a little early on Friday, as I dipped out of work early so I could go see the new Marvel Movie "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness." I'm not a huge Marvel fan, but I have seen and handful of their movies, including the first Doctor Strange movie. I also was a big fan of the Wanda Vision series on Disney+, so that also played into my decision to see the new Doctor Strange movie, since the Scarlet Witch was factored prominently in the movie.
Following the movie, I drove 2 hours south to Tampa to see the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in a playoff hockey game. It was a great game with a fired-up and electric crowd, but the crowd and the home ice proved no match against the Maple Leafs, and my beloved Bolts took the loss. They are now down 2-1 in the best of seven series, and the next game is Sunday in Tampa. Hopefully, they can tie up the series. If I can score some tickets, I'll go again on Sunday, but if not I'll just watch it on tv.
Today (Saturday), I am going to see two tribute bands in concert, one is a Bad Company tribute band and the other is a Foreigner tribute band. Two great bands that I love. Hopefully, these tribute bands will sound as good as the real ones!
I wanted to go to Disney World today, but I just had too much on my plate. My son and his girlfriend are there, and it would have been nice to join them. But we will all be there again at the end of this month celebrating my birthday, so I will get a chance to see my son then.

I have never seen a tribute band. But those two sound great.
Glad you will get to see your son too.
Nothing and that is good no plans. I hope I can relax somewhat.

@marlina This was the first movie I saw in a theater in probably five years. Honestly, it may have been longer. I can’t even remember the last movie I went to see.

Wow, well that's fun packed weekend! I was pleasantly surprised seeing Doctor Strange and Wanda Vision . . . I was not a fan before either. Ohhhh, I haven't seen a hockey game in years . . . it's super exciting seeing a game in person. I'm not familiar with Bad Company, but oh I love Foreigner . . .some tribute bands can be amazingly good. Well yah, after all that I'd be too pooped to go to Disney World 
- yah, save that energy for your birthday! Us - it's a food weekend here - and I don't have to cook (well, except to cook for my mom

@much2say Yeah, Disney is back in full swing. More popular than ever. They’re hitting capacity every day. So popular now they stopped selling annual passes. Thankfully I’m grandfathered in and can continue renewing my passes every year.

I shoulda went to Disney World this morning. I talked to my son when he was there and he said it was not busy at all. But, like you said, I would have been too pooped if I had done that!
The concert was good tonight, it was a perfect evening, the weather was cooperative, and the music was good. All in all, a really good night!

@JudyEv I haven't checked recently, but our Covid numbers had been decreasing daily for months, so much so that most of the restrictions still left in place have been lifted.

Happy Mother's Day to you Ruby! The day is bittersweet for me, as my mom passed away a few years ago. But there are still other moms in my life that I can make sure to wish a happy Mother's Day to.

@moffittjc Losing you’re mother does make Mother’s Day bittersweet.We were always at my mother’s on Mother’s Day and we were a big crowd. I still miss it. Thank you for the good wishes. I’ve spent the day with my sons and daughters in law ? It was a good day for delicious food and conversation. Hope you had a-good day.

I am sure that it was a good game to see live.
We do not have alot going on here this weekend.
We will go out and see our son, daughter-in-law and the twins today for a little while.
Those twins are really growing, it is so cute to see some fat (finally) on them.
They recognize faces now and smile so much when they see us, even when we facetime together.

@moffittjc It was so nice to hold and cuddle them both.
They are gaining weight and growing and have both lost that preemie tiny size look to them.
We took the twins, our daughter-in-law's twin 7 year old nieces, their 9-year old sister and the dog for a walk, and did we ever draw attention. One vehicle, who was driving slowly because there were so many of us, put his window down and wished us all a happy mother's day. Both he and his passenger were amazed to see so many children to 2 sets of parents.
But of course we didn't take any pictures.

The rain finally stopped so I'm going to get out into the yard for a little while today and check on the plants in the flowerbed. I want to start moving the plants inside the house out onto the front porch so they can start hardening to the outside and I can leave them outside during the summer.

@wolfgirl569 I think I am spoiled because my girlfriend and daughter always seem to do all the chores around the house. I help out when I can, but they always seem to beat me to the stuff on the list before I can get to it. They do make me do all the grocery shopping though, because they hate it.

Wow! You do more in a couple days than I do in a month or two 
Hockey is definitely exciting to watch in person. TV does not capture the excitement as much.
I use springtime to prepare my gardens, plant stuff, and do any home repairs which need it. Definitely not as exciting as you.
Anyway, my summer are better with tennis, golf, beach and barbecues

You did have your plate full. I'd be tired after all of that.
Last weekend I worked on Saturday. Thurs and Fri were my days off from cashiering but I did a small window job on Fri. Starting Sunday, yesterday which I just realized want the same weekend I began vacation for a week again with my cashiering job. My intention was to get a lot of window jobs done but my ladder person has had to stay home with his year old baby.
He can work a few hours on wed and Thurs.

Surprisingly, there were more younger people there than there were older people. It was the same thing when I saw the Rolling Stines in Orlando a few weeks ago. Almost the entire stadium was young people.

It was a busy weekend for the wifey and I, but not all fun. We were hosting Sunday's Mother's Day get together with about 13 people attending, so we had to scramble to get all the stuff for the party, get the grass cut, clean the house up a bit and of course we wanted to tackle the garage a bit considering it needed it and we haven't been able to get to it.
It is Tuesday and I am still tired. lol

It's always a chore when hosting people at your house. And you added on a garage cleaning project on top of that. No wonder you're still tired!
It doesn't always work out this way, but I try to get my cleaning and household projects done during the week in order to keep my weekends free for fun stuff. For the most part, it's worked out well, but sometimes you have big projects to tackle that can only be done on weekends.

@porwest I try to tackle at least one chore or project or errand each day as soon as I get home from work. If I do it right away, I still have some energy/motivation to get it done. If I wait even as much as 10-15 minutes, or sit down to rest for a second, then forget it, I become useless. Lol
