Covid Strikes Again!

Last year of course I mentioned that I was directly exposed to Covid three times. First when my co-worker got it, then when my wife had it and I was forced to quarantine with her at home for a week. When I returned to work our warehouse worker got it.
I never got it.
My wife and my co-worker are vaccinated. Our warehouse worker was not. I am not vaccinated and have no intention of getting it.
Then on Saturday my wife and I were with my niece at the eyeglass place she works at where we were there getting new glasses. We were with her again on Sunday for our Mother's Day get together at our house. My brother-in-law's niece was also there.
My niece and his niece both tested positive for Covid yesterday. That makes 5 total direct exposures to Covid for me.
Both his niece and my niece are vaccinated.
Obviously I am monitoring the situation on my end, and knock on wood so far I am fine. I am either immune or lucky. I am not sure. But I won't say I am "out of the woods" until at least 5 days passes.
Luckily this strain of it is the mildest of all cases so far.

It seems that the best way to avoid the covid are the mask, keeping social distance and washing well your hands. I have seen the results of people that were vaccinated and they can get the virus only in a milder form. I have my 4 vaccines but still use mask to go out.

I don't know about all of that. It seems the CDC finally came out a while back and said the masks never worked. Part of it was because no one was really wearing oneājust a piece of cloth will do...that sort of thing. The weirder thing for me is that almost everyone vaccinated I know got it and almost no one unvaccinated did.
I can't make heads nor tails out of it.

@porwest I only relate to people who have their vaccines. But it depends where you live, I suppose.

@marguicha It seems the vaccinated ones are the most dangerous ones to be around. lol

@porwest I do all that. My "go to" personally was to put a few drops of lavender oil on my mask and wear clean ones every day or twice a day.

@GardenGerty Maybe that helps? I think from day one everything Covid related was just a guess. At least this latest strain seems to be the mildest one ever.

A curious factor that has happened since covid spread around the world was how the virus entered the body. I know people who tested positive for covid 19 in 3 moments and currently don't have any kind of sequel.

Seems as if there's no escape whether anyone is vaccinated or not. I hear all the time both vaxxed and not are testing positive but at least it doesn't seem so bad as it was in the beginning. Hope you remain Covid negative

More like a cold now supposedly. I am starting to wonder if everything is now just Covid? I mean, when's the last time someone said, "I just have a cold."
And at the height of this no one said they had the flu. It was all Covid.
I still think we've been hoodwinked.

It's good that you've not contracted it as yet for whatever reason. It is odd that mainly the ones that are vaccinated are getting it. Other than the warehouse worker that is.

@porwest I've been vaccinated but have to get the booster still. I've not had COVID.

The virus variant that has come is leaving long time side effects, at least in India. It's better to get vaccinated and maintain distance and use disinfectant as frequently as needed.

I can understand you do not want to say you are immune and jinx it. I hope you do not get it at all. I can understand why you do not want to get the vaccines. I have no idea if they work or not. I still wear a mask and stay away if can from people. I hate going out but I go out when have to.

I am vaccinated, and boostered, but do not think I will take an additional booster. I have worked in close proximity of adults and children who have become ill, but I have not. I suspect that I may have had it in January before we knew it was in the states. As far as Omicron being the mildest, I would refer you to my coworkers who just recently had it and were sicker than dogs with fever, body aches, headaches, etc. For over ten days. They are still exhausted. Three co workers all from the same family..They are all vaccinated and boostered and were told that vaccines are not effective against Omicron.

I hope you continue to dodge it. We were with a positive person on Friday and Saturday but not super close.
