And then there was one

My grandparents had 7 children. They were raised in the depression days. Raised their own food, baked and cooked everything from scratch.
One by one, they began to leave this earth. The last two, my Uncle Harry and my Mom both were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Horrible to watch as each declined. My uncle recently turned 90. Unc was my favorite. He passed this morning.
My Mom was recently discharged from our local hospital having recovered from her second bout of pneumonia due to aspiration.
We decided to transfer her to a different facility. She has been there for nearly a week. The are she is receiving so far is excellent.
We know that one day she join her siblings and parents. We hope that until that day she will be able to have joy, love, and laughter.

It’s not easy to see them leave us.

Condolences. I have no one of the previous generation left, even started losing some of my own generation, and some of the next generation. My "family tree" is not doing so well.

I'm sorry you've lost your uncle but life isn't usually much fun once people get Alzheimer's. I'm glad your mother is receiving good care.

It can be hard to watch. I know you're doing the best for her.

You have my sincere condolences for your uncle and I hope your mother lasts a good many years yet.
I understand about losing family... I've lost five brothers since the pandemic started. From 16 kids we are down to five now. (I'm next-to-the-youngest, now the youngest still living.)
