Nice weather

Hi, I know you are probably tired of weather stories. My story is about finding a way to get the sun this summer. Ever since I was a little child I have been sitting in the sun in the summer and getting color. Even with the very small place, we lived in I still got sun. Here there is no porch so I have to either stand or find a place to sit outside to get sun and try to be away from people or find a place on the lower floor where I live to get sun or stand at the window. So far I have not been able to stand at the window for long periods so have to figure out what to do.

Nice. I hope you find a perfect place under the sun. Today here in my place it's raining. I hope tomorrow is sunny day.

I always do that to a point. When I wake up I have to go get sun to warm up for day. My dog does it too. It gets crazy hot here after that so we run and hide in AC.

@crossbones27 Since your dog likes the sun too, do you take longer walks so you can get sun. I am out walking but wear a mask so not sure through the mask if that part of my face gets any coloring. I am sure you both work up a sweat so need to air to cool you both off.

That is a nice habit of yours to get some sunshine. But here in our place people avoid it because it just is not comfortable being out in the sun where the climate is hot and humid. Although it is a good source of Vit D. Also, we are not advised to be exposed from 11 am to 3 pm since that is where the UV is the strongest in our place and it is not good for the skin to absorb. They only recommend the morning sun from 6 am to about 10 am only.

@Hannihar I see, I think your place will have different times where it is good to expose yourself to the sun but I think there are times when it is not good to be exposed to the sun because of the UV rays which are harmful to us in the long run.

@rsa101 I have been getting a suntan since I was a little girl and now we have no porch and I will not remove my mask when I go out and there is no place in our building and that kinds of bums me out unless I find a place to sit. Right now, there really isn't a place outside because there are people around all the time and I would rather have a porch where do not have a wear a mask.

@rsa101 I like to sit out in the morning. I prefer a porch but right now do not have one. We do not have sun at 6 am so I cannot sit out then. Since I wear a mask outside I cannot get parts of my face with sun shining down on it.

@RebeccasFarm Since it is raining and cold out it looks like you have to be inside. So, are you warm enough inside?

May be you can get a portable chair, find a place in a park where there are no people, sit there and enjoy the sun.

Hopefully you find a place where you can sit and enjoy your surroundings. Is there a park nearby with benches? That might be an option if there's no place at your home. I talk about the weather a lot too. I figure I can remind myself of temps from previous years of I check out my older posts not that I do that very often.

@Hannihar can you just go for walks around your area or is it hard for you to walk extensively? I know I'm concerned about walking because I'm concerned about tripping and falling.

@MarshaMusselman I can go for walks and I started on Saturday mornings to go for walks and now I want to take a little walk and sit out in the sit outside my building. I can understand why you do not want to trip and fall.

@MarshaMusselman I cannot remember from years past what the weather was like but since the corona began I do know that spring has been skimmed here and winter went into summer. This year is different because we have had cool days too besides warm ones. There is no park close by and I might have found something that might not be so comfortable but may sit there on Saturday mornings.

Sounds like you like to get suntan.I usually wear a base-ball cap, if I am in burning sun.

@changjiangzhibin89 Yes, I do. I have been doing it since I was very young. Now, since the corona for me it is very hard because I wear a mask when I leave my apartment.

@Hannihar I never thought of that. Its too bad that you cannot find an open place that would allow you distance from others so that you could remove your mask safely.

@Juliaacv There are benches by me but the thing is I wear a mask and not sure if the sun hits my face with the mask on so I do not do that.

I guess the only way to get some decent sun would be to take a walk. I understand that it is not fun to mix with too many people these days because of the Covid.

@marlina No, we do not but I still wear one because I feel better with one on with so many germs floating around and do not know the people so do not know if they are ok or not.

@marlina I do walk when it is nice, but, I wear a mask and not sure sun gets through the mask to my face. The best bet is if I can find a way to get sun in the apartment and that way there is no mask.

@Morleyhunt Yes, I can go for a walk but not sure sun gets on my face because I wear a mask and do not want to take it off because of all the germs. There is no park and too many people would go there. I would rather be in the open and find a place where I can get sun on my face so with the window open maybe I can learn to stand for a long time and get sun.

I feel you. Similar at my apartment. There is a little patch of grass by the building, but there;s one neighbor who's always out there who I don't like socializing with, so it gets interesting

Just find time and take a walk outside the house. and make sure you are not alone. A friend will give company. when you are alone you'll be bored and returned much earlier than when you were with a friend or friends.

@Kosgey I prefer to go alone and usually go to places and do not want to be near people outside and when have to go with others then I am too exposed to many people. Walking will not help because I do go out and walk and hate it because too many people out there. I am a private person and really enjoy just being at home with my cat and people do come over to do things and if someone I do not really know then I have to wear a mask and hate the mask. I know you wanted to help but it really did not help.

Here, in summer sun can be really too hot. It's just pleasant in the early morning. I try to catch up enough sun during my morning walk..we love sun basking during winters. I love to sit on my terrace or balcony and enjoy sun basking.

Is there any way you can get out to a park or another public space where you can sit comfortably in the sun?

@lazydaizee I like to take walks on Saturday morning because it is our Sabbath and I do not watch TV or work on the computer. Last Saturday I went out and walked around a little and stood where the sun came down on me but too many people were out so after a while I gave up and came inside. I was very frustrated. Even earlier there are people out but I want to be out when the sun comes out around here and will have to find a place to sit and not let people bother me so can get sun. I like to stay away from people and we have an elevator that stops on all floors on our Sabbath and I take that one. I have taken the stairs but get lost in it. We are new here so do not know the stairwell, so get lost in it. There is nothing marked for the lobby and also saw it was locked yesterday so could not check it out from the entrance to go up to see where it starts.
