Twelve year olds nowadays are so mature

My youngest sister is twelve year old. And she brought her friends home and I was very much surprised by how mature those kids were. I found no trace of childhood in them. They all seemed so grown up. The twelve year old me was very different. We were obsessed with things like skipping every other steps while climbing up the stairs, counting white cars on the road, trying to sharpen the pencil and get an unbroken spiral of pencil shavings, colouring our nails with pencils to make it look like nail polish…… etc etc I kinda feel sad for them.
