Shopping at the little Tesco.

This morning I went to the little Tesco. It was hot outside so I put my light white coat on. When I was half way there I realised that I hadn't put anything out to thaw for the soup for lunch! I got 2 copies of the TV magazine, because my step-dad wants one too. He's gotten fed up of the Radio Times! I got a packet of ginger nut biscuits and a packet of rich tea biscuits. I got some penguin biscuits instead of KitKats today. I got a Kingsmill 50/50 loaf. I got some strawberries this week. Then I got a packet of the Richmond meat free bacon. After that I got my Alpen cereal. I got some egg custard tarts, 2 bars of chocolate and 2 bottles of milk for my Mum. Then I got some soy milk and mini soy yoghurts for me. It came to just over £26. I let a little old man go in front of me in the queue. He only had a newspaper and I thought it would be quicker for me to wait for him to pay than it would for him to wait for me to pay. It was so hot outside that I took my coat off on the way home. When I got home I noticed that the gardener, who'd just been mowing our lawn, had left his gardening gloves on our doorstep. So I took the trolley in through the back door and went in and told my Mum about the gardeners gloves. I knew the gardener was still up the road cutting someone else's lawn, so I went out the front, grabbed the gloves, and went down the street to give them back to him. It was actually his son who is about 12, who had left them! He was very grateful I had given them back. Then I went back in and unpacked the shopping. At lunchtime, because I hadn't put anything out to thaw for some soup, I decided to have some of the meat free bacon, with some little tomatoes, the last spring onion which would have been the garnish for Mum's soup, some lettuce and some nori seaweed as garnish. It was very tasty. I dashed some tamari soy sauce on just at at the end of cooking aswell. How is your day going so far?

@ihasaquestion No problem. There's Shoyu and there's Tamari but Tamari is gluten free.

It's like ordinary soy sauce but better for you!

Sounds like you had a busy morning. I'm sure the gardener would have been upset to find his gloves missing. It was nice of you to return them to him

@Marilynda1225 Ah, but he's a good worker. He trimmed all round our little tree in the middle of our garden. When I say tree, it's only a small skinny thing.

Ah, thank you very much. Yes, it was a busy morning, but it was enjoyable. I couldn't just leave the gloves on our doorstep, they didn't belong to us, and I'm glad the gardener was still up the road doing someone else's lawn so that I could give them back. But it wasn't him who actually left them, it was his son who is about 12, so it would have been him who missed them, not his Dad.

It was good of you to let the man with the newspaper go first. We do that too if the person behind us only has a few things.

Ah, yes. He looked like he needed to go home for a rest and a nice read of his paper. He was very grateful.

I just started following you because I see you live in England and I love following people from other countries. It is so interesting to learn more about where others live and what they do. I found your grocery purchases interesting...like "penguin biscuits, Kingsmill 50/50 loaf, egg custard tarts." Very interesting!

Thank you very much. I don't know what I'm having for lunch yet either. I might have some more of my meat free bacon.
