Lucky Roomie Might Get a Free Car

So, there is a place here that will give out donated cars. His car would not pass inspection without a lot of work which he can not afford. I have told him he has to have a vehicle to live here. There was a time when his car wasn't working and it was a bit of a disaster. He has various appointments he tried to set up with the local transportation and wouldn't get up for it. Plus I am not driving him around. I am not being paid to take care of him. He does have some caseworkers that might help him out. So, that could work maybe.
Anyway, he had an interview with the car charity this morning, they didn't promise anything but said to call them tomorrow after 9 so something may well come down the pike. I just hope these good people can set him up with a car. It would be an answer to his prayers. He doesn't need to have this in place until the end of August, so he has time to wait yet. Hopefully, by then he will have a car from them. I haven't ruled out moving myself but alot of dominos have to fall in place for that to happen.

It would be great. He called them this morning, he is first on the list, but they haven't gotten any donations recently...however, that could change.

@LadyDuck Yes, they said they havent gotten any in lately, but who knows? That could change. At least he doesn't need it like tomorrow.

Yes, I hope so. He is terrible with money and never looks ahead as to what he might need. It seems like he thinks it grows on trees. However, he has issues.

@snowy22315 He has a lot to learn, then. Why is owning a car a requirement to live where you're at? I've never heard of that.

I've never heard of car charity. The problem is, any vehicle he gets will also need regular maintenance. My brother drives a car until something breaks. Then, he hunts around to find a different one.

Yes, that is true, but if it is inspected, he won't have to worry about that for awhile. He doesn't drive a whole lot honestly. It is not specifically a car charity it is through the church. They also offer things like refrigerators and washing machines. Any household item really
