Here are two more photos from the horse ride. The upper photo shows two of those who successfully complete 80 kms (50 miles) while the lower shows a little girl and her grandmother heading out on a 20 kms (roughly 12 miles) ride. They also successfully completed.
You can see the girl’s pony has been partially clipped. These small ponies are wired to produce very shaggy coats in the winter. When they sweat, the hair can be slow to dry so it’s easier to take of them if some of the heavy coat is removed.
The little girl enjoyed her ride so hopefully we’ll see her at more rides as time goes by. The next ride is in a fortnight’s time and in the wheatbelt area of Western Australia.

Many of the horses are clipped. Some are clipped all over but others in various patterns depending on the opinion of the owner. Some leave the hair over the kidneys and on the legs for warmth. Everyone has their own ideas.
Edit: As you can see, they often turn quite a different colour when they're clipped.

I imagine it would be good for all ages to participate in.

@snowy22315 True. On the website there is a lot of coverage given to how best to avoid rubbing.

Why don't we ever see you and Vince enjoying riding horses? Do your parents still think you're too young to go on such long rides?

Good that it's for all age groups and everyone is enjoying it. Happy for the little girl. She might be one great rider in the making. It would have been a fun and bonding time for her with her grandmother.

It's a good sport and you can build a nice relationship with your horse.

If the horses can still do it at the age of 20 there’s no reason why kids can’t do it as well!!!

that's cool that she liked it. I was going to ask about the house being clipped.

I used to ride but I'm too old now and yes, it is expensive.

There are quite a few family groups - husband/wife, mother/daughter, etc - but not too many like these.
