First cherries of the year

Went to my aunt today, she has some cherry trees and told me to go there and get some for my kids. This year she won't have so many cherries as she used to because the trees only have a few.
I ate some while I was picking it. My son is going to have a school trip tomorow and he will take some with him, my daughter will have some too. They both love cherries.
Picking the fruits and eat it is something I really enjoy to do.
Do you like cherries? Have you had some already this year?
Picture of the cherries.

Oh how nice to be able to pick them fresh of your aunt's trees ! We have a cherry tree, but it is the kind that does not bears fruit. I have only seen the red cherries at the store, but I haven't bought them yet. Oh, but we will soon!

@nela13 Oops, I had to edit my comment - I said it all wrong. We have a cherry tree but it does not bear fruit - only blossoms. You are lucky too then to be able to harvest them from your own yard soon! It seems that everything is going up in price . . . I wonder if there were cherry crop problems this year with the odd weather.

@nela13 I dont think they grow them right in this region but they do in other nearby states. The areas off to the NW here might have them, but they are known more for apples. I love cherries especially the dark, sweet ones.

Wow! They look so fresh and tempting. I love to pluck fresh fruits and eat them. They taste extra good. We had mango, guava, and litchi orchards. Some of the fondest memories of my growing up years are plucking those ripe fruits from the tree and enjoying it.

@arunima25 Besides we produce it, cherries are also expensive here.

@nela13 No, we don't have cherry trees here. It's mostly imported ones here and is on expensive side. But I still get it whenever we find them in stores. My daughters love cherries.

Those kind of fruits are rare in my country. We have no tree for that and we have to import that to be able to be available. That is why it is a bit expensive if you buy that from here. But I have already tasted one and I sure love to get one if I can afford to.

@nela13 I think in big supermarkets there are bottled cherries. I only taste cherries in canned fruit cocktails

@averygirl72 I understand, here there are fruits that don't exist there and in your country there are delicious fruits that we can't find here too.

I like cherries and those look like the ones from our trees when I was still a kid.
I bought a bag of Bing cherries a few days ago while grocery shopping. They are delicious!

@nela13 Cherry prices are the same as last year. About $4 for a pound of cherries.
