Day 9 Of Flu

United States
June 3, 2022 11:05am CST
Horrible. I've stayed home practically during the entire pandemic. I've only had a handful of people come over, and some would not even come inside and we'd just hang outside (my house being on their way to work) and it was the first time I didn't have a flu.. First time ever in the US I went a winter without a flu/fever. Well, my cousin lives a mile away, but hadn't seen him since the very beginning of the pandemic. He wanted to hang out. Sure. He's going on vacation, and has 64 GB of space, and wants songs for his long drive to Kentucky. That night I didn't sleep well, so the next day I felt sick, which is typical when I don't get 8 hours of sleep. Then, I got desperate musically, and instead of looking for singers who'll never show up, or do their little part, I found a way (by frequencies) to isolate her voice. I added my voice, and if you know Beate Krause, you'll know 99% can't hit those notes. And that's just half of it. Her voice is SO wonderful. Too bad Carol of Harvest only did one album. She was 16, and sounds better than any new singer of the last 40 yrs. I don't care about stats, awards... only the voice. I stripped it down (got rid of my drums, guitar, bass) and wanted to see how "Ah Cappella" would sound. SO, I thought, "My throat is sore from 8 hours of talking to my cousin... And then hours of singing my guts out".... And I'm not a singer; I play drums, guitar, piano. But, I was desperate, and needed to collaborate, even if it wasn't a band in front of me. I lit the candles from both ends, and then I noticed a sore throat... My body aches were/are unbearable, not to mention the fatigue. The first 4 days, I would lay down in my bed, but within 15-20 minutes, I had to get up and come sit on the couch where I'm at now. I took a few at-home COVID tests. I don't know why. It doesn't matter. Flu or COVID, I'm going to stay home away from everyone -- just like before COVID. And even the instructions themselves say it's "possible".. I tested negative three days in a row. And then my mom came over and pissed me off. My throat hurts from all the yelling. I trashed this place a bit just so she would leave. I don't want my parents coming over. Luckily, my siblings don't come over anyway. I'm people'd out. They're boring. They same the same garbage. I don' care about the weather. Or phones. Or other mundane garbage.

Are you taking any medicine? Nine days is a bit long for flu.

Yes. Lots of tylenol. Lots of ginger, lemon, honey, pomegranate juice, too. I just don't understand how I could catch this when I've only been around one person in the last 3 weeks or so, and he wasn't sick, and even yesterday when I talked to him, he said he was fine.

@ExplorewtMe So odd, because I haven't left my house in almost a year. When someone delivers groceries, I wait a few minutes until after they're gone to get them. My throat is still so sore, and it's been over 2 weeks

I'm not coughing as much, but that's about it.. It's been almost 3 weeks, and a few days ago when I finally saw an improvement, I spent a lot of energy recording drums. I'm darned if I do, darned if I don't. I'm a musician, and I'm desperate for work.
