Being yourself at all times, is the key to getting along with people from all walks of life. No one would want to befriend and deal with someone who is insincere and faking to be what he/she is not. Chances are that doing so, could undermine your credibility. It may work temporarily for some people. However, in due course, dishonesty and insincerity can be easily detected by those who are intelligently perceptive. The best strategy would be to be honest and sincere at all times in all dealings.
Pretense is unbecoming and superficiality cannot last. It is often used as a temporary element to impress another person. Most persons can eventually see through your intentions. Being yourself in your mannerism and speech can get you appreciably noticed by any person. It is an endearing quality in a person. Let your good manners shine through by being yourself habitually in every spectrum of your life.

Very sound advice, I used to have good manners but corrupt world got a hold of me. Now I sometimes sound impolite, but still think I am respectful for most part. I am definitely a I treat you how you treat me type person.

@crosssbones Well, this strategy could work sometimes. But not all times. Its always safer to be consistent and make good manners a habit.

I think most people try to be, but those who are dishonest, tend to start being that way more often then not. To the point it becomes part of who they are, in essence them being themselves.

Yes who a person really is, eventually shows in his/her way of life. @kaylachan

That`s right. Being yourself can make you feel comfortable with yourself and people who will be around you, are the ones who are comfortable with who you really are

@m_audrey6788 Indeed yes, it is good to be comfortable in your own "skin' be it brown, black or white. You can then only be trusted by those around you.
