do you still have time to go to the butcher's shop?

I am doing my stuff here when the whiff of a very old meat being cooked darted throughout my kitchen. It came from the unit beside me as our windows are all open always. This is usually the smell of frozen meats. It happened to me before when I resorted to buying frozen goods as I did not have time to go to the wet market. I always prefer fresh meats as I can store them for weeks without that nasty smell when you cook them. Do you still have time to go to the butcher's shop?

There aren't any butcher's shops around my area. We have to buy frozen meat at the grocery store.

We have butcher shops inside the grocery stores, the butcher cuts the meat for you, it's not pre-packaged. Anyway if I need to keep the meat for weeks I freeze the meat.

@Janet357 I have several kilos of meat (chicken, turkey, beef) in the freezer. Already cut and portioned. I take out what I need in the evening and put in the refrigerator, so it slowly thaw during the night. This is the safest way.

I often go to the wet market which is just a few minutes walk from my place to get fresh meat.

Yes, I make sure I always buy fresh meat. There are times I do buy frozen meat but I try not to do it all the time as long as I have time. Fresh is always the best.

It depends. We seldom eat meat. We prefer fish; so my wife goes to the vegetable shop where fish is also sold there.

We don't buy meat as we don't cook nonvegetarian food at home.

We have two butcher shops near us. Both specialize in pork products. The supermarkets we frequent have fresh meat available and we usually get ours there.
