I started a discussion series last time:
Continuing from the above, once we had got a deadline to shift, the hard work began.
I waited for one week as we had a visitor expected at our place.
I started visiting different Apartments in our preferred area.
In contrast to what I expected, the number of available places for rent was lesser than what I had expected.
1 unit somewhere, 2 units somewhere.
Some were at higher floors than what we wanted.
And no units in some Apartments.
We zeroed on one and made 2 visits in 2 days but backed out due to certain factors, which I cannot disclose here.
Overall, it was much tougher as we had mercury hovering between 41 and 45 C.
I always kept a water bottle which helped.
Plus I had to go in between my work timings on some days as well.
My Manager was thankfully supportive in it and I came back and often worked till 10 or 11 in the night.
In short, everything was in a turmoil and unsettled.
..... To be continued.....
Early May 2022. Things were settling down for me at work and personally after a hectic and spending heavy April. We had a planned visit by our landlord in early...

Apartment hunting can be a lot of work especially in the heat that you are facing there. Good that your manager is supportive. You have a time constraint. Good luck with your apartment hunting. Hope you get a suitable one soon.
How are you going about it? Through online sites like magic bricks or through agents??

My 'stories' are in the past tense!
Now we are in a new rented place and gradually settling down.
I had lesser time and got a package through MagicBricks. It did help.
I went through a Real Estate agent.
But was more careful in many terms than before.

Yes it is so tiring as well but a bright part is a lot of de-cluttering that we have been able to do!

Actually I have shifted to the new place 10 days back and kind of settling in.
The experiences I am sharing are spread out over May and June.

This time I am not keeping high hopes and trying to use lessons learnt from my past experiences.

Yet we still need a lot of covering up to do as we have to spend a lot of money (over budget) plus time and energy.
Kids' studies suffered too.

Finding a better place to live is hard. If there's, the rental is too much.
