The good thing of not reading any news online and offline is I am not knowing a lot of bad news. Sometimes I am in doubt when reading news. For the reasons that they might be coming from untrusted sources. I do think that we need to read them to be aware what is going on in this world.
Do you think reading news online is important?

We are subjected to too much news now. Even trying to stay away from hearing news, because others want to talk about things happening around the world, we hear about it anyway.
It's not that there is more bad news happening, it's that it is constantly in our face because of so much media. We just see it more than we ever have before. I think that can be detrimental to our mental health. And it can be difficult to know what's really happening and what is just media "spin".

@Shavkat We don't watch television, read newspapers or listen to the radio. If Pretty sees something online that she thinks I should know about, she tells me and I'll look into it. If I can find reliable news footage, then I'll tell her what I found and where I found it.
If there isn't anything from a reliable source, then I tell her there was nothing to know.
Some people don't like the way I ingest news but that's their problem, not mine.

For me, I believe that we still need to read news because we need to know what is happening around us. You don`t know maybe something happened so bad near your place and you are not aware of that

I think that some of the news is important. I am finding though that not only is there more bad and sad news around it's also more in your face I was talking with a friend the other day and I asked if the news had always been this bad or are we just paying more attention and we couldn't really answer that.

We need to read news so that we know what's happening around us and in the world. But there are too many biased news reports. When I read news, I always check the source of the news.
