What is the feeling of being demoted?

Life is like a river...

I felt sorry for our university Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. She's female, single. Before her appointment as VCAA she was appointed as CITL Head. We're all shocked when learned she's demoted from a high position as VCAA to full time faculty. She might have been petitioned for she's somewhat demanding, strict, judgemental. The Board of Trustees demoted her. She's on leave as of this moment. We really don't know the grounds of her demotion. It's not good to feel high if promoted for there's karma and it's real. What might she feel this time? Maybe she's remorseful or what??? Life is full of surprises. Do you agree? Image credit to Gif Facebook

She will feel embarrassed over the change in her status. Maybe angry or upset. I wouldn't want to be the first person who needed her help when she returns.

@DaddyEvil, agree with you. It's so embarrassing, she better resigned. She never had experienced status as a faculty member. How could she face the people. Actually, I didn't like her too, she's snobbish. She doesn't respond greetings from people below her level. Time has come for her to slap her own face for a shame. What goes around comes around.

@cacay1 She sounds like a snobbish person. Looking down on people below her status is bad.

If she's really unhappy about the demotion, consider working for another university.

@Beestring, she's famous in big universities and being demoted is a ground for unacceptance in other universities.

I don't know the whole story but perhaps she really deserves to be demoted, the board is not made up of stupid people so most likely there are good grounds and basis for their action. A petition by students and parents would also carry much weight and the board had probably done a fair investigation. I would resign if I were her to keep my dignity.

@cacay1 Is there's a big chance that she's not coming back? I hope she does not suffer depression from the shame and think of something stupid. How old is she?

@louievill, she's 31 years holder of doctorate degree from the University of Texas. The ground for demotion might be strong, administrative. Someone told me many teachers petitioned her dunno the ground.

@LadyDuck, yes, reason was very valid. There were series of investigations by the Board of Regents and at the end the verdict was demotion. Many said she might have been petitioned by many teachers under her jurisdiction.

@cacay1 sometimes the people who don't work efficiently are demoted or ask for a change of responsibility or transfer of department in the private sector but I don't see that in the government sector.

In India I have seen people still continuing in safe profession after being demoted. There are many considerations, sometimes in mid -age people fear again a new employment, sometimes job centre being close to house, sometimes costs for children's education come in the way.
