In Spite of Rumors to the Contrary

Hello everyone, I can't tell you all how much I miss you. It seems so long since I have been normal. I'm still not quite back to being me but I am more stable. The doctor prescribed Zoloft in a very low dose and it has really helped to keep me on a more even keel. Not much has changed in my life, I am still living happily at Kasey's. I do go out to eat with friends from time to time. I write a lot, it keeps me busy. I went for an MRI yesterday for my frozen shoulder. I still do PT twice a week but the progress has been slow which is why my physical therapist wanted the MRI. Kasey and I hit the racks at Kohls, 50% off the already discounted price plus I had 25% off. We spent about $550 and saved about $2200.00. I know it seems crazy but it is true. The largest purchase was a mattress topper for my bed at the cottage which cost $154.00. So far we hit 4 different Kohls. I got loads of Lauren Conrad and Simply Vera tops, pjs, leggings, and some things for my grandson Chris. One example is a pair of lounge pants for $2.56 seriously. The last weekend of July I am going to visit my brother in Vermont and the first week of August I am spending 4 days in Quebec with my son and daughter-in-law. I am hoping I will be okay but I need to try. I will try to be back more often. I do miss everyone. The photo is from the cottage the 4th of July weekend.

Good morning lady. Sorry to hear about your frozen shoulder. I almost had that after surgery. My PT was concerned. But the team worked me through it. If you are heading to Vermont I would love to get together with you if we can find time. Bargain shopping is great! We have Midnight Madness coming up soon. There was a time when I would hit the streets with a plan in hand. Got a lot of great buys that night.

You really did get some good bargains. It's so good to hear from you. I pray you'll continue to recover, but of course you'll miss Al forever. Being with your family will help a lot, I'm sure. Take care, we love you.

Thank you for the prayers, I am slowly recovering but I know that life will never be the same. I just have to adjust to the new reality. But yes, my daughter is my anchor, I don't know how I would survive without her.

@1creekgirl Thank you, yes, I will never get over the loss of Al but I will survive. I still get anxious which is such a weird thing for me but it is less severe than it was.

Yes it was good for me to get away a little on my own without Kasey, I have been using her as a crutch.

Good to hear that things are proceeding comfortably; Praise Father God. I'm 'tempted' to say "I'm praying for you." I mean, I DO pray for you; but probably not 'you specifically,' since I'm always praying for "all humans" (which includes you, yeah?) I get annoyed at 'people's attitude about prayers'---the original idea was that we 'submit our requests and gratitude to Father God' (much like babies cry when they need something). I'm not sure where the idea of 'praying for others' originated---maybe Lord Jesus did it in His famous "Prayer in Gethsemane," maybe it comes from when kings-etc. would ask Prophets to 'pray to God' (about something important) and report God's reply. It's sort of promoted in the idea that 'Catholics pray to Saints' (we know we aren't actually 'praying TO them,' but rather 'asking them to pray to Father God---because we know we can't see how to get our requests fulfilled faster, but we know the saints can probably phrase them better (like when your big brother tells your mother 'the needs behind the concerns you've been asking him about)). But what gets me is when people thank THE PRAY-ERS for Father God's mercy! If we were still talking about 'the Old Testament god' (a.k.a. Mr. Jealous), I think the pray-er thankers might be earning themselves 'a stoning' (giving glory to the askers instead of The Answerer).

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. As a Catholic, I certainly ask my favs to intercede, the squeaky wheel theory, but I know that God does hear me as well. Prayer is what gets us through rough times.

It is so nice to read a post from you. You have been thru so much this past year, it really illustrates that life is a journey and sometimes the road is rough, but you have not walked it alone, you have the support of your loving family and friends. You and Kasey are having a ball shopping together, that is so nice. I think of her and the family getting thru John's second anniversary, I will be thinking of you all. I hope that the virus isn't terrible in August and that you and your son and wife can get up to Quebec, I remember how you loved to go there.

@BelleStarr Is it 3 years already? It seems like yesterday. Willow and Harper are healthy and growing. Harper loves to play with her tongue and coo and babble, she's adorable at it. Willow loves to have tummy time and try and try to roll over. One day she will get it. Here is there 5 month picture taken on June 30th, they are bigger then the bunnies that we bought them when they were born and we thought were huge at that time.

@BelleStarr that will be better to have company during both trips and not needing to be the driver. How will you be getting back home after your visit in Quebec? I was in Quebec and Montreal when I was in high school. We went to each city a different year during French class. I don't remember much about Quebec other than that we stayed in a college/university.

Wow, what a haul. I recently bought a vornado space heater there that was marked down from$169 to $107 because of so many coupons and money in my 'wallet'. It's really good to see this post, I knew you'd be back but I had hoped it would be sooner.
